Asst coach Samantha Williams will not be retained

They'll be a change in 2 years if she missed the tournament. Why bite you nose off to spite your face? She could have keep 1 assistant for relationships, even if it's just 1 year. It's CKC show, I hope she knows EVERYBODY is watching . No Year 0 make the tournament and all is well for year 1, miss it first 2 years and back to mid-majirs, probably forever. All I'm saying is she made her 1sr year MUCH HARDER than it had to be, GLV!!
Coach Caldwell made the tournament in year 1 taking over a team that went 17-14 the year before and the leading scorer, Roshala Scott (17.4 ppg) transferred to JMU where she averaged 21.0ppg this year. So if you are dumb enough to believe that Coach Caldwell can't make the tourni in year 1 or year 2 with a roster of UT \ SEC level players mixed in with whoever she is able to land out of the transfer portal with UT's branding and tradition, resources, and NIL behind her, you are clearly a moron. She went 26-7 in her first year at Marshall with a dogshit roster and she went 17-1 in her conference. Making the tourny is going to be easy for someone like Coach Caldwell, and in the future just making the NCAA tournament won't be considered an achievement anymore. It is sad how far have we sunk, making the tourny should be expected as the standard, not making a tournament is atrocious. Uconn hasn't missed making a NCAA tournament since 1989, that is 35 years in a row. We used to be like that under Pat, making the tournament at UT is the standard.

Loss to MTSU is bigger than what others want to believe. It showed life without RJ gets you beat by directional school mid-major.
No… I think it shows the inconsistency. That we are capable to murder ND for a half then lose. Then can’t even look good against MTSU (granted Jill was also out)
Embarrassed by OSU where only 1 player had a positive +\-

Just inconsistent. The talent there but not consistent coaching

Apparently off twitter they had some portal players scheduled to visit but canceled after Kellie got fired
Apparently off twitter? that veritable cesspool of muskian verities? You base your thoughts on that?

OK. Try this one on for size, and tell your friends you read about it on Vol Nation, so it must be true…. Danny fired, sacked, did not retain, and otherwise skewered the employment status of
Kellie solely in order to épater le bourgeois.

I mean I was talking about accounts that talk about the portal but ok?

A strike ? For bringing in who she wants to do her recruiting ? You gotta be ***** kidding me ! Kellie is solely responsible for the roster. If she was GOOD at her job which is coaching she would still be the HC. She failed to meet expectations while she was here. Average is not good enough. Kim has to find the people she can manage and oversee. She will be fine.
I've said many many times ,that it was ktime for change. So don't throw that Kellie crap at me. CKC is our coach, I no longer associate Kellie with anything LV. I shouldn't have said strike, but if she doesn't get good coaches , it'll be a bad sign.

Yup but now no visit
I'm getting slow in my declining years, which began around 1977, so help me out if I got this wrong.

1. Some nameless people on twitter—perhaps such luminaries as Donnie Woods of WER included—said that some unnamed portal occupiers were due to visit UT the first week of April, and…
2. Somebody or other, nameless of course, further asserted that the aforementioned student-athletes, upon receipt of news of CKJH's imminent departure, abrogated their AGVs (Agreements to visit) because -
a. The UT LV basketball program in itself was of little or no potential interest, and/or

b. Potential NIL lucre didn't interest them,and/

c. the thought of postponing the visit, pending the naming of a new head coach, was beyond their capacity, so to speak.

3. We have it on good authority, one ShortyMac 10, that those kids will never visit, because the absence of KH makes Jack a dull boy and UT K a desert in the landscape of WBB, now and forever. So let it be written, so let it be done.

Is that about how it all plays out?

He likes winners who have an innovative, exciting offense…. That is what he values.

This 'innovative' stuff is exaggerated. It's rare for football or basketball coaches to do anything that hasn't been seen before--and if they
do (more so maybe in football than basketball), opponents learn to deal with it pretty quickly. Innovation doesn't get your very far---talented players
do. Look at Alabama, Clemson, Michigan in football, UConn, Notre Dame, South Carolina women in basketball. Just a lot of good players and good fundamental coaching.

How do we know if someone is a good assistant coach?

She shouldn't fear any decision she makes. She also knows there's consequences and scrutiny for every decision ahe makes too. I hope she hires a stud recruiter and coach and UT all works out. I also think it's a huge risk to not keep some kind of continuity in the program. I also understand wanting to start afresh. GLV.

More than anything and AD likes a style of play that sells tickets and we all know the quote.

“Offense sells tickets, defense wins games, rebounding wins championships.” -The Late Great Pat Summitt

From her lips to Gods ears, why not here at Tennessee?

Relax. In order to be successful one must feel anxiety, change and pressure. Trophies will come. Stay tuned.

Winning sells tickets. Ask So Car and LSU. I don't think the average fan gives a rat's arse about how it's achieved. Winning games in the SEC is rarely boring.

Here is examples of who he has hired…. Scott Frost, Josh Heupel, and Leopold…. 3 of the highest scoring offenses in football…. Nate Oats in basketball… one of the highest scoring offenses in basketball…. Kim Caldwell… one of the highest scoring teams in the nation last year…. Yes you have to recruit and have a solid foundation… He will give a coach everything that they need to be successful.
