I'd really like to see Medlen or somebody step up and take some of those 7th inning appearances so that O'Flaherty and Venters aren't spent by August. Venters in particular needs to be protected before he becomes Brad Clontz.

We have enough bullpen arms. Vizzy's injury is a blessing in disguise IMO. You never want to see a guy get hurt. You also don't want to see a guy with that kind of stuff be a 7th inning guy for six years.

Give Delgado/Teheran the 5th spot till Huddy comes back. We'll be fine with Meds in the pen.

Hopefully Peter Moylan can eat up the seven when he returns

It may be June or later byt Moylan will be back and I expect him to be servicable at worst. Medlen could be the guy. Especially is he gets his new curve mastered.

Not if Fredi keeps up the manage-by-numbers approach to the bullpen. The bullpen wearing down and losing effectiveness down the stretch last year was as predictable as the hangover I've got coming the day after St. Patrick's Day.

Nice.

We definitely don't have enough bullpen arms if Viz is out. Adding a legit RH is necessary.

Tyler Clippard. There was some dialogue last season between the two clubs about possibly moving him to the ATL. Would be a great addition. Not sure the Nats will be willing to move him this year, especially within the division.. but he would be a nice fit with Vizzy going under the blade

Wow. I don't remember hearing about those talks or see the Nats interested in moving him. I don't think we need anyone of that caliber though. Just better than Linebrink an preferably with a little experience.

Okay.

We have enough bullpen arms if managed right.

:)

Never got off the ground, Simpson mentioned it as a possibility on broadcast. I think he would be a great fit. Another stud to keep the workload down.

I think Proctor is still available, or maybe Dan Kolb, Jorge Sosa anyone?

He's looked fantastic in the games I've seen him. That ball would have been a swinging strike last year.

I imagine lot of scouts made some bolded notes about Heyward's swing on that slam as he has been hammering inside stuff all spring. Might not wanna go in there and try to sneak anything past him. He's turning on it with little effort as he's making it look so easy thus far in spring ball.

One of the BEST relievers in baseball over the past couple off years would be a great fit? No kidding.
I don't see us just handing him to Atlanta. He's a legitimate difference maker in the pen. And I don't remember there ever being even strong whispers of us handing him over.

Y'all need to hope kimbrel and venters weren't/aren't overused. Hope they can repeat great years.

Don't worry about K and V my guy.

Easy little buddy, I wouldn't say he is one of the best. He would be the 4th best option if he did come to ATL. He is good, ESPECIALLY for your squad

PS you forgot Ed O Flaherty.
