Seriously though, very difficult as we all know to evaluate a team so early but when you see this team failing at so many different areas on a nightly basis you lose hope of a winning ball club. One night it's the bats, the next night it's pitching, the next night it's defense it makes, me at least, begin to really see the institutional failures across the board begin to be magnified for all to see.

I mean this in all seriousness: if I were Wren, I'd fire Gonzalez tomorrow. After the collapse last year, the terrible record in spring, and the pathetic start to the season, it's clear that whatever Fredi's telling this team isn't working.

It's not like there's much coaching involved; clubhouse management and motivation is the whole job. And Fredi is failing at it.

...and he's fat.

Braves spend more money than some of you think.. Payroll is estimated around 90 million which isn't too shabby. Wren hasn't always spend it wisely. Lowe, McOut, Linebrink, etc.

USA Today has the Braves at $83 million this year, which is 16th out of 30 teams. So right in the middle. But fourth in the division now.

Payroll has actually declined by about $10m in recent years. As salary has come off the books, it has not been replaced.

Fans aren't stupid. They can tell that the team is halfassing it, which is the big reason why attendance is in the toilet. Which just leads Liberty to cut payroll even further. Nothing is going to change until the somebody who cares about winning buys the team.

Volnation bake sale to raise enough funds?

I agree with everything you said. What I was getting at is I don't think Wren has maximized every penny as well as other GM's. Call it sharing the blame. Everyone from ownership down is responsible for this team of cupcakes.

I got a killer sausage ball recipe BTW.

That's more interesting than watching this team presently. Post away.

Thankfully Deadliest Catch starts tomorrow -- dunno if I can stomach another game like this where the Braves just gave it to a very bad baseball team in Houston.

With that said, fire up the train. Maxwell just **** all over Durbin.
