Also, if you have the chance, listen to Scully on the broadcast. From the obvious things department.

I've been listening to him via the MLB At bat app on Braves-Dodgers games for a couple years. When you've got a DVR you can even pause/unpause it without too much effort to sync it up pretty well with the TV.

Rev isn't an every day SS now and he doesn't project to be. He doesn't have a high ceiling. He has no power, minimal range, a decent but inaccurate arm. Decent contact hitter who should be okay in avg/OBP. He's a utility INF is what he is.

Bringing in Livan will be like throwing gasoline on this bad boy.

As long as we're talking about Braves who played before you were born, I wonder why teams don't develop more guys like Jerry Royster? Guy was a crappy hitter but played something like 15 years in the big leagues because he could play every position on the field but catcher. If you've got a reasonably athletic SS like Pastornicky who doesn't really project as a starter, why not turn him into a Swiss Army knife type player? Those guys are amazingly useful.

Agree with this completely. Ol raffie belliard-esque

Honestly.. Rev reminds me of Brent Lillibridge

Congratulations Livan. I've never seen anyone make the number on the back of their jersey look small.

If feel like if I were a manager, I'd have a general rule of thumb that if a pitcher has been getting beaten around enough that you've already had the bullpen up in the first few innings, and then he comes up at any point with runners in scoring position, I'd pinch hit for him just about every time. The likelihood that he's going to turn it around and pitch deep into a game is small enough that you can't pass up a shot at a run.

Amazing stat of the night: all Kemps dings have been opo or to center, hasn't pulled one. Great hitter.

He's a really good hitter enjoying the standard age 27-29 peak years. Good chance that the back end of that contract looks awful.

Not to crap on him or anything, but guys who really are great, HOF-quality hitters don't usually take five full major league seasons before they start showing it.

He hasn't hit five full years yet, so they could still send him down. No way they'll do it though. Delgado will go down and Jurrjens will get at least two more starts to turn it around. Not what they should do; what they will do.

Geez, Fredi, go get him. It's only a three-run game.

EDIT: "Braves' bullpen starting to stir," says Chip. Way to go, Fredi! Now there are two on and nobody out. By the time you get somebody ready it'll be useless either way. At this point you're married to letting Hernandez finish it out. Always thinking one move behind.

And now that it's a five-run game, Fredi's finally got a pitcher ready and makes a move. KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL

Good thing the rest of you gentlemen have done the smart thing and bagged this game.

It's 7-2 Fredi. Sit your fat ass down and let Livan finish it. If you were serious about winning, he shouldn't have taken the mound in the 9th for his 5th inning with Kemp and Ethier up..
