They asked Fredi after the game about jurrjens being sent down.. He said we won't make any crazy decisions. 10 min later jurrjens is gone. Fredi might as well walk out the same door

The most depressing thing once I started reading Bill James's books in 1984 was that it became impossible to pretend that Ramirez was anything but awful. I really liked that guy. But yeah, suddenly it was glaringly obvious that a guy who hits .260 and only walks 20 times a year is killing you. Too bad.
Thankfully, after Ramirez the Braves upgraded to future Hall of Famer, Andres Thomas. It took a lot of effort to put the pieces in place to lose 90-100 games a year.

You're definitely right. I was going by what Bowman said and I didn't think he had an options left

At some point this year he ticks over five years of service time, and at that point you can't send him down anymore without risking him walking away to become a FA. Or at least he will if he comes back up.

Sort of a cold-blooded move by Wren; I would have thought they'd at least offer him the chance to DL so it wouldn't seem like as much of a slap in the face. Maybe this is the first salvo in arbitration vs Boras this offseason. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised anytime the Braves make the smart move these days.

Andres Thomas. That uncomfortable batting stance. All the guy could hit was a fastball.

I remember going to a game in the late 80s with Doc Gooden pitching and him giving up two hits. Both to Andres Thomas. Must have been the highlight of his career.

JJ Hoover got called up to the Reds (prospect we traded for Juan Fran) hope he does well... I think he will have a solid career. Trade made sense for both clubs.

Thank God he sent JJ down. Watching that last night was brutal. Every start he has is worse than the one before. Is Hudson going to be back to take his spot in the rotation? Or will someone get a spot start? (Medlen or Teheran I'm assuming)

Hudson will be ready for the next turn.. We won't need a spot start. Interested in who gets called up til Hudson gets here though.

I would like to see Yohan over Gearrin but he isn't on the 40 man. I am starting to wonder if Redmond will ever get his first cup of coffee

Touché on the 40 man. Didn't even think about that. After all I said about contanza making the roster for a day because he was on the 40 man you would like I'd have considered that..
