I guess he should have just stated "Does Ole Miss Have a Counter Offer" because "I would like to be here, but I don't mind Moving for more money."

Auburn would have to be idiots for hiring him. They are better off with Freeze or holding onto Cadillac for a year as an interim.

Kiffin is a decent coach but his ceiling maybe Offensive Coordinator. Hard to Trust someone with his track record.

At first I thought he would be good for college football.
I realized he was in over his head way too young for a NFL Head Coaching Job.
Someone stated they hired him for his Dad's service.
He is way Too mouthy but ok it was entertain & fun to hear.

He is probably a great guy to hang with and at times (Times) a player's coach but beware he will drop you like a rock.

Above is his nemesis. Does he stay at Mississippi or does he leave for Auburn? No matter what he says I still think there is a chance he ends up at Auburn.
Auburn's mistake. Lane knows that he can always Rehab as an OC somewhere. He loves Rehab.

His act is getting old and he can't back it up. Somebody should have thrown a Golf Ball last night.

WASH, RINSE, REPEAT and get PAID in the process as he has a pretty good thing going on.

This is the saddest thing, people keep asking, pleading, begging even, every time Lane’s name comes up….please just let it go. Those of us who keep fighting the good fight take great delight in watching him step on his dick, and we will continue to be here as long as the other side keeps running defense for him. You seem like the kind of person who would feel safer reading threads that don’t involve Lane Kiffin.

I mean, they can pay him whatever they want, but he's never going to be the highest paid CFB coach in the nation. Every time somebody makes a buck more than Saban, he gets a raise per his contract.

Kiff out there trying to make Saban even more money.

Kiffin desperately wants out of Ole Miss. He has served his 3 years which is a long tenure for Lane. He cleverly worked his way up from FAU to Ole Miss and now aims for Auburn. Lane is still tortured by leaving Tennessee in the depth of the night and he now knows what a truly great job he had in Knoxville with his daddy by his side. Auburn will chew Lane up in 36 months if he is offered the job and he will end up at a west coast school like San Diego State and bounce around the west until he qualifies for social security.

I had always pictured one of the Nevada schools, but that’s a good option for Lane to finish his career miserable and forgotten.

Regardless of anyone’s stance on Kiffin, I do not believe a lot of coaches out there hold the Auburn job in high regard. I get they want to keep the vibe riding high with Cadillac being alum turned interim running things but it’s asinine that Auburn has not named a coach by now. Especially with their “infinite” resources. I think Auburn fans are gonna be let down with this hire.

As long as it's UNLV and not UN Reno,. I'm fine with that.

Lived in Reno for a bit and loved it so still kinda keep up with UNR as one of the schools I root for but which I am affiliated to in no way. I really don't wanna see them go down that path as I would have to then cheer for them to lose on a weekly basis.

How much did they pay Gus to go away just to hire Harsin and can him in under two years (and then pay another buyout)?

Would in no way shock me to see Auburn strike out on their major candidates. I guess they kind of have Cadillac in their back pocket though so at least they don't have to get truly desperate and make a Dooley-style hire

Not having an AD slowed the process, for sure, and then Cohen had to get his feet on the ground (read: deal with the dysfunction and try to be allowed to do his job.)

UT wouldn't know this but a dysfunctional "behind the scenes" situation can make a coaching search a nightmare. 😉

There’s no way they can hire Cadillac. Even if he wins tomorrow. A learner on the job at a school like Auburn would be a trainwreck. Especially since Auburn themselves hold that school on a pedestal

Yes it would be a story book ending to the season for them to pull the upset. But there is no way they can hire him to a 4/5 year contract worth 20-30 million on a 4 game try out and expect to compete nationally. It would be awesome for Cadillac to get the job though.

He beats Bama tomorrow, they might not have a choice.

The fans would revolt and there's no amount of individual boosters who could overcome that.

I mean if they strike out completely on their top targets, they would be better giving him a year interim to see what he could do. Would be a helluva lot better for them long term and hiring a reach candidate like Dooley.

Normally i say don’t fall to the social media mob since we showed the power of that.

But if they hire Cadillac and his staff isn’t filled with star assistants, it will be clear as day his hire was an emotional one. Like I said, it’s a feel good story if he as a former all time running back in Auburn History becomes head coach but man if it fails, Auburn will look a million times worse condition wise than anything Tennessee looked in 2017 and 2020
