Why did his star ranking increase then? Everything I heard indicated that he and Schofield were sleepers who continued to increase in attention.

I may be completely wrong.

But I am positive that I read a recruiting article where he was dissapointing in the week of practice before an all-star game.

It very well could have happened but I didn't hear about it. Morgan Moses was a disappointment during all-star week but not so sure about Phillips.

Phillips' performance at the AA game took him from 3* to 4*... must not have been too bad.

I don't understand why he said he was still committed to us but on NSD he will sign elsewhere. Very odd. I'm completely dumbfounded.

I just say this because I heard his practices were not good. Plus he was not a first choice for the game.

This AA "status" got him an offer or two more which in turn gets his * rating raised.

Watch some of his video and tell me what you honestly think. I personally am not impressed. Thats just me though. :dunno:

He's got some pretty big schools chasing him. I trust their evaluations more than some recruiting "expert."

Now we love this guy again. We hated him about 2 hours ago and were bashing him how overrated he was and its not a big deal to lose him. Epic.

I was just about to post how overrated this kid was, and how much we didn't need anybody as slow and worthless as him in Knoxville.

I'm glad I didn't make that mistake. It's awesome to have this guy's world-class size and strength back in Orange...he's going to be a perfect fit for our O-line.

Some posters get way too excited and build up these players to legendary status when they show interest, and then if they waver then they weren't that good anyway - Not to mention the boo-hooing and Kiffin bashing.

It is not rational to fall in love with any of these guys until they sign. Honestly, I like to see what a lot of you think, but listening to some of you after a decommit/waver is worse than witnessing a teenage girl after a breakup.
