Aubrey Phillips Leaves Florida State

I love how he kept saying he was still committed to UT but now they're not even one of the two schools he's deciding on.

he can have hime. i would have liked for him to come here but its his choice and he can play wherever he has the opportunity to.

What ticks me off is that Phillips and Shackelford were unknowns until they committed to us...they might still be unknown if they hadn't gotten the exposure from commiting to a big name program

“I’m still committed to Tennessee, but on Signing Day there will be a change,” Phillips told Auburnsports.com. “My Auburn visit went good. I got a chance to hang out with the players and meet the coaches and really liked it.
“I like it down there. I like the stadium. I like the coaches. All of them are cool. You can go to them with your problems and none of the players had one bad thing to say about them.”

As in the words of Curly Bill Brocius "BYE"

Why do you stay committed but say you are going to change unless you are just yanking with UT? There's either something amiss or this kid has developed some sort of grudge against UT.

I agree, with a statement like what he said, I don't think we want him on the team. His attitude doesn't seem to be in the right place. Hopefully I'm wrong IF he comes to UT.

This is one of the reasons why there probably should be an early signing period. I do not understand how you can say you are committed and in the same breath say that will change. Why doesn't he just "de-committ"? What is the reason for even saying that he is committed if it is going to change. Do it then and let's all move. There is no need for a coaching staff and school to be held hostage by an 18-year old high school student. You are either committed or you are not committed.

Maybe Phillips means he's changing his commitment from Tennessee under CPF's regime to Tennessee under CLK's!

JK, I think he ends up at FSU. Weird statement though, maybe he was misquoted or he just misspoke.

This quote sounds like he is an Auburn lock, but the funny thing is, he is supposedly down to ARK or FSU. . This kid must really like playing head games. He apparently likes the fact he is wanted by several schools, and it makes him feel important. To say he is committed to UT but that will change on NSD is just stupid, I don't care if he is only 18. I wish he would at least de-commit from UT and then I could care less where he goes.

Is this kid retarded or something...

"I'm still committed but that will change on signing day"....

That means you aren't committed genius!

Exactly. It is just a ridiculous and ignorant statement to make, even for a high school kid.

Alot of people give these kids a pass because they are young...but I for one am getting completely fed up with some of them...

Just because you're 18 shouldn't give you a free pass on saying stupid crap...I sure wasn't granted that kind of leniency when I was that age...

Some of these kids are acting like absolute jackasses...this is a good example of that

I think we might be in for a surprise. He says he is committed to us, but it will change Wednesday.....so he will be changing from a commit to a signee. Either that, or he is a complete idiot for what he is saying

Even it that does happen I'm still going to feel the same way about his behavior as I do now

This kid is an idiot who doesn't know wth he is even saying. Unless he decides to sign with the Vols. Then, he is a genius who is using clever wordplay.

It should be interesting. If this kid is trying to draw more attention to himself by making such stupid comments I guess it is working. Apparently he has not had enough during the recruiting process. Poor baby, hims needs some more attention. boo hoo hoo....

I can understand being undecided, but to make comments like this is just dumb.

I know that everyone sours on recruits when they decide not to come to UT, but I have never really heard anything good about this kid. I watched some video and he just looked like he was way bigger than all of the other HS kids. I saw little intensity, little play finishing ability, and minimal footwork.

He was also extremely dissapointing as a replacement at one of the all star games that I read about.

I know kids can always be coached, so take it FWIW.
