Aubrey Phillips Leaves Florida State

It's either us or Auburn IMO. Hubbs said that Phillips' step-dad wasn't thrilled by the visit to Knoxville. I have no idea why not. But that is the reasoning behind this sudden turn of events.

Phillips' teammate is committed to Auburn as well and is trying to talk him into coming with him. I really think it's starting to look like that's where he ends up.

w.e. i don't think this is that huge, i say we get hall and that more makes up for the phillips loss. would it have been better to have both? of course, but right now i'll take what i can get.

NOOO. CLK and his staff provide more opportunity for the future... if they get to have a future. Clawson and his guys had 4 quality OL's lined up. They needed all 4. I didn't panic when Foster left. But Phillips is huge to this class and CLK's future.
You must have extremely low standards for offensive lineman if the four UT had last year are considered "quality".

Translation: I'm still working for Company A but on Wednesday, I'll be working for Company B. Thanks for letting us know Mr. Phillips. A phone call would have been nice.

Oh I'd say there have been some phone calls between our staff and Mr Phillips......

Schofield, Revis, Phillips, and Antonio Foster... You've been trying to say UT will be OK with just two of those guys.

I'm not sure about this whole thing with Phillips. Unless it is personal, why wouldn't he go ahead and de-commit if he were going to? The fact that doesn't make sense is what I'm hanging on to with him.

Maybe there's an argument in his home between him and the step-dad?

That is exactly what I think.

Olive Branch, Miss., offensive lineman Aubrey Phillips (6-6, 322 5.1) appears to be down to Arkansas and Florida State for his college decision.

Florida State Coach Bobby Bowden was at Olive Branch high school for four hours on Thursday while Arkansas sent assistant coaches Mike Summers and Reggie Johnson to visit with Phillips in the afternoon.

Phillips will likely choose between the Razorbacks and Seminoles on signing day.

Why can nobody figure out exactly what is up with this kid?
"I'm still committed, but that will change on NSD." I know these kids are teenagers, but come on dude.

IMO, I don't think there is anything to figure out from everything I have read about the comments this kid makes it says he is not coming to UT. The comment in your post says it all.

So much for all those who were convinced he was going to Auburn.

You no what is pathetic, with both DT Shackleford and Aubrey Phillips we pulled these kids from out of no where, and it has really shown the type of people both are. Je'ron was a top 100 player, so understood with a coaching change, but these other kids are reminiscent of some kids who we would not want on the team. If Phillips and DT, dont want to work with say Ed Orgeron and Monte Kiffin, then enjoy football mediocrity and a life in the CFL!
