You're not a fan if you cheer for Bruce Pearl over the Tennessee program. Period.

I would never cheer against Tennessee. However, I have always pulled for Duke UNLESS they were to play the Vols (which I am hoping happens VERY soon). Same goes for Bruce and his new team. I will be pulling for him, unless he is playing us. I think that is how it will be for most once the shock, or whatever it is, wears off of the hire.

To clarify I don't mean this as an insult to UT basketball, in fact, when the time comes to replace Cuonzo, you could potentially hire an even better coach than Pearl. Assuming the AD accepts they'll have to spend some money.

Probably not. Fans would but 2.1 mil is more than Tennessee would pay but may have to if they are serious about basketball.

Plus Coach K is going Nowhere he makes 7.5 mil a year so that is really not realistic.

yes, mourning Bruce while UT is playing in the NCAA tournament is sad. Actually it's a sad statement whether UT is playing or not

Well I wish I could be as happy as you are about being in a play in game with grade A talent and a sub par coach.

Being an 11 seed in a play in game is not a reason to rejoice when the talent this team has should be in a much better position.

FWIW I have the Vols in the sweet 16 on my bracket.

This is the worst news of the season, even worse than the fact that Cuonzo will still be our coach next season. I guess Tennessee is doomed to perpetual mediocrity in men's basketball. We had our chance, I think he would have come back. I don't care about our turn around at the end of the season, I don't care about our "play in" game, and I think that Jimmy Cheek and Dave Hart are an embarrassment at administrating the University of Tennessee.
