Auburn vs. Oregon - Official BCS National Championship Game Thread

We are an SEC team. It helps our reputation, strength of schedule, and recruiting. I would hate to be your family member... especially if a fight broke out

We didn't play them this year and won't next year. We are in direct competition with Auburn for scores of recruits. This helps the Tigers a lot. If it does anything for UT, it's not good.

Please be joking... They lost on a last second field goal to a team who ran a train on the SEC.

Ran a train? Come on. Gifted game from AL. Awful officiating and Mallett out AR Auburn. Struggled mightily with garbage early. Much fortune to keep that awful D from killing them.

If we were an elite SEC team, I could maybe see the argument that the whole conference being strong is beneficial, but when we're already scraping to get by, a strong conference does nothing but make the road back that much longer.

Clearly they'll want to play for the .500 team when they get here, not the four teams that have won NCs since 98.

Auburn was 5-7 in 2008 when they picked up a bunch of the players that just won the NC. As another poster said, players want to go to the best conference, and whether you feel this way or not, at least some excellent players view Tennessee as on the rise. Geez, give the negativity a rest - you're really getting boring.

Oregon didn't eviscerate the Pac-10(sans Cal)? Because Auburn actually played in some tough games.

And on my TV, if Cam Newton wasn't making his best attempts to blow the game, Auburn wins by two TD's at least. Instead he chooses to miss wide open WR's for 6, fumble, etc.

With that said, Chip is a great coach, but right now he doesn't have the horses(Auburn defensive line had their way tonight). If he ever starts getting premier recruits on a consistent basis, watch out.

The notion that an Auburn championship makes recruiting easier for UT has to be the most idiotic thing I've ever seen here. The Gabe Wright recruitment just got a Hell of a lot tougher.
