wow. i didn't know. I had just seen picture of him pulling on the strings. Her dad is an idiot and everyone knows that. Can't take anything away from her play so far though.

Like I've said for the past few rounds, a Maria-Ana final will be enjoyable to watch and not just because they are very good tennis players.

I agree with ya Bill. It's definatley not the final that was anticipated. It should make out for a good match.

I could now care less about the tourney Federer and Blake and Roddick are all gone. On the womens side I'll go with Maria any day

Go figure. In a thread that has been completely dominated by 4 posters, i own a little more than 1/4 of the posts. Odd how that works. Especially considering I grew up a tennis player.

Sorry, I'm pretty sure I'm informative on tennis. If you're only allowed to post about what you know about then in that case you should be limited to this based on your other sports knowledge.

so the fact that Maria has completely cruised through her side while Ana has had some good battles means nothing? Nor does the fact the Maria has 2 Grand Slam titles while Ana merely has a French Open beatdown for her championship match history?

Sharapova has played a much tougher side when did I deny that? Sharapova beat Jancovic (sp), Henin, Davneport while Ana barely made it through last round

so what makes you think neither is the favorite? Based on play there is no doubt Sharapova should roll. If Ana makes the same mistakes she made against Hantuchova she doesn't have a chance. Of course, you're so knowledgeable about the sport you know this. Yet you think neither is a clear cut favorite... hmmmm.

The shrieking from Sharapova is pretty freaking intolerable. I like that she's attractive, of course, but there's absolutely no reason to scream like that every single time you hit the ball.
