Avengers Endgame ****SPOILER THREAD****

Space magi
So weird...just having this discussion in text form with a friend.

Soul Stone - on the planet Vormir, feel like Capt could have taken it back anytime basically
Time Stone - returned to Dr. Strange's teach and thus he has it in present day again
Space Stone - returned to 1970 and S.H.I.E.L.D. present day unknown location
Mind Stone - this one I am fuzzy on, it was originally in Loki's scepter...and then used to create Ultron and later Vision. But Vision is obviously still gone, but he was killed by Thanos to get the stone so when/where did Capt return it? He would of returned it to himself if we went by the EG timeline...leaves a hole in why Vision isn't back if that's the case
Power Stone - this would have been the one at Morag present day unknown location
Reality Stone - Returned to Asgard and then given to the collector who again was taken out by Thanos so who knows where it is or if the Collector is still gone

The other theory is that it doesn't altar the present, meaning Capt returned them and then Thanos' second snap did eliminate all the stones...so none of them exist anymore. I don't know it's pretty full of holes honestly
Space magic. Saw it a second time, and that plus old Cap being there would seem to break the timetrack rules from the film.

Based on the rules of the film, yes they would all be destroyed. But then there would also be a separate reality now, because Loki took the 2012 scepter and poofed after the time heist slip up.

So many holes. So don't care. Loved it. Gave me what I wanted... Liked all the call backs to the other movies. Liked the humor. Loved fat Thor lol...

The 3rd act Battle was great... So cool when the portals started opening abd everyone started coming back... Gotta love that.

Really liked Hawkeye getting darker.

And I liked that they got you to really hate Thanos...

Anyway...I agree with all the issues the movie had... Asked alot of those same questions while watching it...

Just don't care.. Great movie for fans.

To be fair that happened. Remember Thanos getting the stone from him in IW after beating Hulk & Thor up on the ship?

Hawkeye story was well done, was hard to see him lose his entire family...then he goes full on Punisher mode. Nat brings him back then she sacrifices herself so he can return to his family...hard to watch. Tony I knew was coming cause spoilers are hard to avoid was still hard though.

Mind Stone was in Loki's Scepter. Capt snagged it. If he returns it to Avengers timeline then Tony still uses it create Ultron & Vision still happens...which would then leave the biggest plot hole imo. If Vision was created BUT Thanos didn't snatch the stone where is Vision?
Vision is still dead because in the current thread of time, Thanos DID get the stones, including the mind stone from Vision's head, thus killing him. That has never been modified. The mind stone was taken from 2012, to be used in 2022 (five years after Infinity War). Then, it was put back in 2012. Thanos still snatched the stone from him at the start of Infinity War in 2017, then snapped, and then it was later undone using the stone from before. Nothing done in this movie was done to undo THANOS, only to undo the actions of what he DID.

Guess my biggest plot hole from EG was why is Loki & Vision gone gone? Yet we've brought back Gamora (although from a previous time) but then we also have Nebula still running around although her past self was eliminated.

Cause if you take out 2014 Thanos then in 2019 or whenever IF happens he never kills Loki or Vision for their stones.

One thing real quick. Why is everyone saying 2019? Infinity War (and Beginning of Endgame) happened in 2017. Wasn't the start of Endgame the end of Infinity War? The dates are summarized here, and here is the book that info came from. Also, that would mean most of the 3rd act of Endgame took place in 2022.

See my previous response to my logic as to why those who died NOT by a finger snap are still dead. That includes Black Widow.

Hulk said he tried to bring her back with his snap but couldn’t. Presumably because he was just reversing the Thanos snap. But that does leave one to wonder, could the stones bring back anyone no matter how they died?

I was shocked that Gamora came back only as a time displaced version and not through some trickeration of the soul stone.

It's still a mystery exactly what Thanos did when he snapped his fingers. I do not believe that Thanos' snap was "reversed" though, because everyone did not return in 2017/8, but returned in 2022/3. It does make sense that Natasha couldn't be revived, though, since her death was part of the main timeline that we the viewer are following. If she didn't die, Clint didn't get the soul stone, operation failed. How does one "put the Soul Stone back?"

Did Loki actually get the space stone if Cap went back and made it so that the movement of the scepter (mind stone) and the tesseract (space stone) were taken away by the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents as planned?

My most impactful moments from Endgame:
  1. Iron Man's Death
  2. Opening Scene with Clint when his whole family died (As SOON as that scene started with him showing his daughter how to shoot a bow, I had the biggest knot I've ever had in my stomach. I knew what was going to happen and spent the whole scene about to throw up)
  3. Thanos beheaded (I went into this movie thinking the entire plot was going to be that The Avengers were going to spend the movie finding/fighting Thanos to steal the infinity stones back and reverse what he had done. Not sooner than TEN MINUTES into the movie they f***ing KILL THANOS). I was like "Oh, s***, buckle up, here we go" after that.
  4. Thanos dusted
  5. Captain American wielding Mjolnir
  6. Sam's voice/the portals opening
  7. Thor's gut
  8. "Heil Hydra"
I had such a hard time making this list. I will probably add to it. I challenge you to try to make one and see what you would put first.

Something else I have discovered since watching this movie, is reaction videos on YouTube. Though I watched this movie in an IMAX theater, it was a 10:00 showing and was only about 50-60% full. I missed out on seeing the movie with a full theater. It's so cool to listen to what an opening night crowd sounded like.

they could make a hawkeye movie on it's own about his exploits during hte 5 years....i think that'd be pretty cool.

My top 5

1. Captain wielding Mjolnir
2. Iron Man dying
3. Black Widow dying
4. Hawkeye story (the opening scene and then his whole scene with BW)
5. Thanos learning about the plan through Nebula

Loki is getting a Disney+ spin off. I figured they left that open as setup for it.

So Captain Marvel pushed the ship (that Stark and Nebula were in at the start) roughly 1000 light years in less than a day? Pretty sure he said he had around 24-30 hours of air and was about 1000 light years from anything in his goodbye recording.

Also.... when Stark grabbed Thanos' glove with the stones at the end did he transfer the stones or glove with the nanotechnology built into his suit or something?
