'22 AZ WR Kyler Kasper (Oregon commit)

That’s an irrelevant question IMO. We will always have recruits interested. It’s a question of the quality of the recruit if we want to catch Alabama, Georgia and others. I’m hopeful with Heupel’s offense. We’ll see.
So, the more recruits interested means the more we sign? Would that mean the more highly ranked recruits interested increases the odds of how many highly ranked recruits sign?

Maybe. We’ll see. Today was a disappointment with the buzz and the momentum most thought we had the last couple of weeks

Disappointment? You mean Spyro didn’t want to overpay for a WR that doesn’t have near the value as a QB?

Sounds like a smart investment to me.

Maybe you’re the one trying to stir it up like it’s a bad thing? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, it sucks, happens sometimes. The buzz isn't gone away, just couldn't make it work for this guy. . . on to the next. I'm sure there will be some surprises and big fish in the boat by signing day.

All those possible reasons(if true) were unknown when Kasper committed and when I made the post except for a small number of fans who had inside info. Still a disappointment regardless of the real reason he committed to Oregon. Are you not disappointed?

1.5 million for a wr for a receiver over 4 years is dumb, it'd tell them to kick rocks as well
Depends on the WR, or just player in general and the impact they can make.

If Percy Harvin was asking for 1.5 out of Landstown Va Beach, it's a no brainer. You pay him that and smile about it.

Kasper or Tate are not that combo game breaker.

This offense doesn't truly need a Harvin, or a Moss, or Cooper (Amari).

The Brown kid from Ohio should be a priority.

You’re Misquoting. I stated it may not be as significant as many on VN was stating.
Are you doing your regular thing where you read one post and declare it as consensus canon? Like with Guarantano’s dad conspiring with Butch to make him the top rated dual threat QB? 😏

Well see. Hopefully you are right because I want nothing more to be a perennial top 5 team competing for SEC and National championships.

I want the same but even if we were to get the #1 recruiting class next year, we wouldn’t be competing for an SEC or national championship. We are at a minimum 3-5 years away. Especially given how well UGA and Bama still are. I mean Brian Kelly is a good coach so who knows? He may rule the SECW when Saban hangs it up and win multiple NCs. We just aren’t close and even if Nico could bring in 4-5 5*s it wouldn’t be enough.

I think it’s going to make it more honest. And in the case of baseball, enhance the college version.

I disagree. Let's look at this case. We have a top ranked QB, clearly because of the NIL. In any other era it would attract top WR, and I'm aware were still in it for several. But these kids are looking for money and bids, and that's determining where they go.

Let's say, you got a 2-star or 3-star that beats out your 5-star. What do you think happens when that 5-star gets beat out? Is NIL based on performance like Pro athletes? If I'm the 5-star I might sit on the bench and just continue to get paid. The 2-star/3-star will be looking for the same or better deal than the college student driving a Jag but riding the pine or he's probably gone.
