Bad News about Tobias Harris...

I'm not going to turn this into a rip job on dad or on you, but two of your points call attention to an obvious blunder.

If Mr. Harris was interested in doing what was best for his children, he could have left them at their first high school and allowed them to grown up alongside their friends and build a title team (they were on the verge when Tobias was a soph).

The first transfer to L.I. Lutheran was OK in my mind because that introduced them to a higher caliber of H.S. basketball, where they thrived. They beat Brandon Triche (now the PG at Syracuse) and a great 6-9 frosh center last year for the Federation title.

The L.I. Lutheran program has produced many college-caliber players and has more in the current pipeline.

But for the second year in a row the boys changed schools, returning to HHH West, where there is very little of that rich tradition of great Long Island basketball that produces college talent.

And that's a major "10-4" regarding the team being ill prepared Sunday. They were also ill-prepaerd a day earlier against Rochester East, which was inferior at all five positions and still came within three seconds of forcing overtime.

HHH West was not the best environment for the Harris brothers to grow on the court, so I'm not buying the idea "Mr. Harris has done what was best for his children."

who are you anyway?

It doesnt need to be a rip job about Mr. Harris. But as I'm sure you are well aware of there are a number of reasons as to why the Harris boys transferred back to their hometown school Hills West.

What you choose to ignore is the fact that the High School season is not where these kids have gotten better. It is their off court work ethic and AAU schedule that has gotten tobias the recognition he currently has. So overall I do believe it was what was best for his kids.

It could be argued they have been ill prepared for since the longwood game but bailed out by their talent. almost every game since could have easily swung the other way.

Lebron James was playing in the NBA when he was 18. This stuff is inexcusable, he'll have to do some growing up when he gets to Tennessee because this kind of temper tantrum would be ridiculous for a middle school player.

Are you kidding? Pro athletes throw temper tantrums on a regular basis. And as far as I know, this is an isolated occurance. I'm not worried about it.

Wayne Chism is a senior in college, not a senior in high school. There is a big difference.

If Hopson acted like that, I'd be equally embarrassed. A senior in HS should know how to act after a loss.

If Wall did this, everybody in here would be ripping him apart.

Let's just quit judging this kid and go on. He made a dumb mistake and apparently has apologized for it and feels bad about what he did. At least he didn't go punch someone or anything like that.

there is a prety big step between high school and college. i would be surprised if you saw him do anything like this when he gets to UT.

and I'm not saying vol fans wouldn't be ripping Wall, they probably would. Except Wall was charged with breaking and entering... something that's probably worse than throwing a temper tantrum on the basketball court

So because he's not in college, it's not a big deal? I'm sorry but this is how I would expect a middle schooler to act, not some HS phenom.

Cousins does what Tobias did ONCE regularly - as in several times a game.

Yeah, a middle schooler might act like that. But as far as I know it's an isolated incident, I don't think it's a serious problem that will carry over when he comes to UT

I hope and dont think it will be a problem, but there really isnt an excuse for that type of behavior coming from a HS senior.

I don't have as much problem with the incident as I do the orange colored glasses wearing people in this thread that are so quick to act like it's nothing when they would rip the guy to shreds if he were going anywhere else. We'd be seeing all kinds of comments like "Sure glad he's not coming here".

Maybe you should call CBP and discuss it with him. I am sure he would like to get your input on the potential implosion of next year's team. Any advice you could give him would be much appreciated by all those involved! :birgits_giggle:
