Bajakian Says Dobb's Job to Lose

A student worker in football department mentioned that Coach Bajakian has been talking to people like It's Dobbs job to lose. They liked what Dobbs showed last year and are looking forward to see how much he hs improved. They also like his size and improved physique.

Coach and I must of watched two different players, but it's a new yr. Anything can happen.

Ok, i'll make this really easy for the Dobbs lovers on here...Tell us all exactly what you saw this past season that gives you encouragement that Dobbs is the qb of the future....Because he can run?...He certainly can't throw...Don't even argue that one...Decision making?...WHAT exactly??...Or is it because he is black and you want to see a black qb at UT?....Didn't want to go there but yes I did and if that is the reason then you are not thinking straight...This isn't a race thing and it should never be....One of my all time favorite qb's at UT was black and I love watching his highlights and that is the great Condrege Holloway...I hope the kid comes out and shows us all what he is made of and wins a lot of games for us but from his first season where IMO I saw nothing that tells me this kid is the future at UT at QB I just don't see it...Lets hear your reasons....Don't give me the he is a freshman excuse either, Even freshman can show some kind of improvement week to week even in losing.

Then why are they wanting to try him out at TE?

Incoming blame put on the receivers but you cannot blame them for Worley's miscues.

I'm not really a "Dobbs fan" (honestly Idc who wins the job, though I'd be somewhat disappointed if it weren't ferguson or Dobbs), but I'll give it a shot.

Dobbs showed some good athleticism and had some explosive plays. His legs opened up the running game a bit for the RBs. With the talent coming in, that could be huge. His decision making was very lackluster, but he's a very smart kid and that gives me hope that he'll improve that decision making when he gets some more experience and the speed of the game slows down for him.

With added time and experience in the system, the playbook should open up for him and allow us to do some more varied things on offense than with Worley at the helm (this is admittedly true with Peterman and Ferguson as well because they have more speed than Worley, but Dobbs has a bit more agility than the others).

Sometimes freshmen just aren't ready and Dobbs wasn't ready last season. However, he has the tools to be a good QB in the future.

Was that ok? I think that's basically what the Dobbs argument is at this point. If you'd like to hear the Peterman/Worley/Ferguson argument as well I'd be happy to oblige.

Dobbs already throws better than Worley as a Freshman. The fact that Dobbs can run is better than anything Worley can do. Dobbs did practically the same against the hard part of the schedule.

Good post Darth

For some reason I'm just all-in for Ferguson. It makes no sense whatsoever but when I hear about another QB winning the job I'm just disappointed lol. I guess cause he's the only one we didn't see screw up last year.

There's something appealing about him...maybe it ends up being a product of the unknown element...but he's been built up as a rifle armed ball of swagger...if the truth is somewhere in the middle then it's a fun prospect rooting for him. I don't understand the ridicule directed at the posters rooting for him...Dobbs has experience but hasn't separated himself yet...absence makes the fans fonder on Worley apparently...the team was playing well at the time of his injury, but he wasn't...I feel we compete better against Mizzou and Auburn and obliterate Vandy with Worley taking the snaps but that was more the result of his three years of SEC exposure as opposed to being fresh out of high school...I trust Butch to pick the best option and for Volnation to enjoy the results.

I have black friends and I said hi to a random African American gentleman the other day...for no specific reason...don't know why I felt the need to post that. :dunno:

One question for you.

How do you figure that your post made it easier for the "Dobbs Lovers"?

Wasn't Dobbs hurt at the end of the season? Thought he played last couple games with a bum hand?

Doesn't matter to me who starts as long as we win. But to already write off Dobbs is ludicrous.

Nope.
Someone will be counting the number of reps each QB has in today's practice and whoever has the most, VN will name next season's starter.
Book it.

Spot on!

That's what I look forward to most on here. The prognostication based on absolutely nothing.

Condredge Holloway reference

Yes. I see now. Thanks to his post, I now know that Dobbs sucks.

He could have made it even easier to understand and mentioned Tony Robinson as well. Everything would have been crystal clear then.
