Baltimore Unrest

They knew this shiz would happen, why wouldn't they have an enhanced police presence there to deter the violence?

Did they learn nothing from Ferguson?

It's a numbers game. And according to the Chief, they were deployed earlier.

But when you're running form one place to another trying to keep things from spreading (failing as well) and again, vastly outnumbered, you attempt to channel and contain the crowds to keep it from spreading.

Now it's apparently spreading city wide. And contrary to belief, there's not that many cops out there. And until they get reinforced by the Guard and State Police, the best thing they can do it hope to live to fight another day. Property can be replaced. Lives can't that easily.

No one said abolish all laws CC. Just abolish the laws that do nothing to deter real crime.

Real crime? Do you think the drug addicts and dealers just sit back and get high all day? I'd say a large percentage is out there now burning down their community, looting, assaulting cops, and damaging property.

This is one time I agree with defend.....cops need to blasting those thugs until their is not one left alive....good call defend

Then the media and politicians will crucify anyone and everyone in law enforcement.

Baltimore will be the match that started the fire.

I appreciate your perspective. However, this started in a small pocket with what looked like 100 cops standing around right around the corner from the CVS when the actual looting started. They could've nipped it in the bud, but didn't.

They were also ordered not to engage.

Probably not, there is a difference between breaking a kids neck, shooting a guy that is running away, or choking someone out VS handling looters.

This rioters/looters are criminals, clearly. However, if their behavior spreads to different areas of the city and it becomes widespread, local PD will be unable to contain it.
