Baltimore Unrest

Not like this.

If they unified the city and protested as a mass, it would get noticed. The marches organized by Dr. King and others brought real change. And without violence. But they did so without violence. How is it any different today?

I agree..... This does nothing but inflame everyone except those burning and stealing

But then they might shoot someone throwing bricks or bottles and you'd be all butt hurt over that too.... Even though actual crimes are being committed..... Isn't that harm to persons and/or property?

Seems you've actually learned what a crime is, why do you think I'd like to see some action by the cops. Too little to late now. Gonna be a long night.

Whomever that councilman that's being interviewed on Fox right now is utterly worthless.

Let's not do anything to stop the looting and be a positive influence...

Perhaps a requirement of being a cop should be that you actually have to live in the neighborhood.

Some of those in uniform do live in those neighborhoods. Mainly because they were raised in the area and want to see improvement within their community.

Others in uniform may not live there but they do their best to protect and serve those within the community they patrol.

Change needs to begin with the community (families, parenting, etc) and the community leaders need to take the lead, by working hand in hand with LEO and stop being oblivious to the criminal element that has run amok there.

I've been on CNN and apparently missed this one.

Seriously, he said that? What a fool.

Maryland State Police assuming command and control of the operation. Around 13,000 officers and Guardsmen will be on the streets soon.

That is why they get paid tax payer dollars right? "Protect and serve" right?

If they went in whooping some serious ass, you'd be up in arms about "police militarization" and excessive force.

This is truly a case of you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Riot math: 5k National Guard + 5k additional PD from region + 3k BPD = 13,000 police soon to be on streets. @cbsbaltimore #BaltimoreRiots

I agree. But, we must first address the senseless revenue generating laws that do nothing to stop crime.

Apparently that fire is a church in eastern parts of the city. Most of the rioting was in the western parts, so it is spreading.

No, they'd be protecting property. Id be fine with that.

And if they get their ass handed to them in the meantime?

I've been in large scale riots before. And when you're outnumbered 50 to 1, sometimes all you can do is prevent it from spreading further.

They knew this shiz would happen, why wouldn't they have an enhanced police presence there to deter the violence?

Did they learn nothing from Ferguson?
