Bama fans are unhappy with the officiating, too. This photo was

Photo shopped . We're far to classy to ever do anything like that . The world just hates us cause we should of been national champion the last 110 year .but because of the refs and that hate espn has for us .we get screwed Every year .
Go back and watch the game, it happened

The player was still trying to move and go right before herring tried to punch the ball out. They're taught to do their arm at a 90 degree angle and punch the ball out, not just slap at it. He is clearly going for the ball. Herring has never made an unsportsmanlike play...this COULD have been called, but I truly don't believe it was a malicious play

That should been a penalty and possibly ejection
No it shouldn't. He tried to punch the ball out. Nothing unsportsmanlike about trying to make a play. Unfortunately in a high speed game sometimes your aiming point/decision making is wrong but he was clearly going for the ball.

I used to think I hated Florida the most….. now I know I was wrong. I hate Bama …. I hate them and their ignorant ass, knuckle dragging degenerate fans.
I can’t fully describe how much I hate these simpletons
Welcome to the club brother. Alabama is the worst. I hope they lose every game for eternity.

Some of you are acting as though every defender in college and pro ball, isn’t being taught to punch the ball out. Watch some football, this happens numerous times per game, every Saturday and Sunday, every week.
Did he miss the ball? Yes.
Was it intentional/malicious? No
If it was intentional, I guarantee one thrown punch to the side of a helmet, would be enough to keep it from happening again.😬

Their O line holds every single down across the board, that tackle had 2 handfuls of Pearce's jersey all game. Also unrelated topic Pearce needs to put a little weight on, when these 300 plus pounders get hands on him they maul him.
One could call holding on almost every play run in today's football games.

He was trying to punch the ball out. They are taught to do this.
I agree that was his intention... but like a hit to the helmet, it may not always be intentional but it is a penalty....

With that said..worse happens in a pile up.

I HATE it when defenders try and strip the ball instead of just tackling the ball carrier. It's drive me as crazy as when coaches go to a prevent defense late in games when only leading by one score or less. Drives me right up a wall.
agree, me too, however on this play the runner is clearly being tackled and this was an attempt to knock the ball out. I'm with you thought when they do that and not trying to actually tackle.

Hopefully we smash Bammer next year and then not have to play em for awhile

We should come out with intense revenge next season when we play them...make last year look like a sample of what's coming. Go Vols!

Absolutely right on target on both comments.
Play tough, fundamental football and play the right way instead of going for the highlight play.
