Bama fans are unhappy with the officiating, too. This photo was

So, make that three...interesting fact: Bama very rarely loses in Tuscaloosa. They lost to Texas this year. Know which conference the officials were from? Not the SEC.

Don't let the facts get in the way here.

The 2022 game in Austin was officiated by Big 12 refs and the 2023 SEC game in Tuskaloser was done by SEC refs (Loeffler crew)....

In slow mo, his hand goes in front of the helmet, down the chest, and hits the ball. It was actually a good non-call.

He was trying punch the ball out, missed and glanced off of his helmet. Penalty? Maybe
Absolutely, and if you slow it down on the replay from the front (opposite angle of the real time play), you can see he actually did hit the ball, and the ref was right there and did not call it.

It only looked like a punch on the helmet from the back, full speed.

Even Danielson said he was probably trying to punch the ball out.

I hate facts. They're always getting in the way of a good narrative.

There is an alternate view of the play which shows the runner wasn't down and the punch was targeted at the football, which is probably why it was not called. That angle makes it look worse than it was.

Correct, it's amazing the low football IQ of internet posters but I get it everyone looks for excuses. We did absolutely nothing defensively during the second half to stop Alabama and the offense couldn't get out of its own way. You are never going to get the benefit of the doubt against Alabama by the refs in a rivalry game at Alabama. Every Tennessee fan should know that by now

Not wrong - there is a clip from the back side that showed the runner was not down. Had the runner rolled over the defender (which is what he was trying to do) and righted himself and continued down the field, he would have been given the yards on the replay. Even in the clip above you can see the runner is NOT down. The defender was punching at the ball. I agree he ended up making contact with the runner but it was absolutely not an intentional punch to a runner that was down.
CORRECT

Go back and watch the replay he wasn't down yet, and it was inadvertent going to punch the ball.
Yes and there ball was in his stomach..... not his chest.. not his head.... it was a wild attempt but I don't believe it was intentional... its still should have been a flag... reverse the team's and yall are having a coronary that it wasn't called

POSSIBLY worse than the Officiating BIAS against UT @ bammer was the first down spot against PITT. Talking about Jobbed! Worse I've ever seen. (even worse than Milton's robbery.)

Find a good view and watch is in slow motion - I don't think he even hit his helmet.

They are taught to punch people?
Jesus… They are taught to make a fist and try to punch the ball out . It’s taught from the pee wee level up to the nfl. Seriously I wonder how some of you guys become fans…. Like did you just like watching football games from your seat when you were in the marching band in high school?
