Bama Officiating….

Go back and watch the first TD bama scored at the 7:05 mark in the 2nd quarter. You will see Burton clear as day in front of the ref take both feet and kick our DB in the waist as he was getting off Burton and Burton was on his back.
Remember he got away with slapping a girl in the head last year. No consequences for his action then

Or he could not turn dumb on 4th down and not stop doing what worked the whole first ref. But….boo officials or something .
Always the victims.
Y’all are cool with our team getting away with that punch (wasn’t going for ball) of the Bama player when going down. Weird.
That punch wasn’t intentional, and if I thought it was I would say remove him as there isn’t no place in the game for that. But players are taught to punch at the ball and try to punch it out. Even Bama Daniels the announcers said that’s what it looked like also.

Also going conservative with the play calling was dumb. I don’t understand why we didn’t keep doing what was working to begin with. Milton was very effective in the first running the ball and we completely got away from it till the 4th when the game was already decided.

Also I will never understand running the ball on 1st,2nd, and 3rd down and go for it on 4 and pass it when everyone knows we are passing. Our play calling got predictable the 2nd half and Bama capitalized on it: I also think we are missing Golesh more than what anyone would ever think.

But even with all that said, these refs was absolutely terrible. Bama had committed 48 penalties tonight for an average of 6.8 per game. Then tonight all of sudden they get 1 penalty for 5yds, while the Vols got a penalty for our Linebacker clapping at his own players. That clap was not even close to mimicking the snap. The snap is 1 clap with a pause followed with another clap. But the linebackers clap was while he was looking to the sides at his teammate with a rapid clapping to limp his team up. He was not even intending it towards the Bama team.

acting like a victim has nothing to do with the **** the officials did tonight. Would we have won if called right? Hell, who knows. But I do know that Bama was the beneficiary of 6 drives being extended due to penalties being called. I don’t care if penalties are called against the Vols, I just want it called evenly both ways. You’re not convincing me that Bama only committed 1 while the Vols had 8.

Wasn't that bad. We was out coached the second half. Please quit with the whining
Of the complaints I've read in the various threads tonight, I'd say all three major ones could exist simultaneously:

1. Although Joe had a great first half, he remains inconsistent and his decision making and reaction time is lacking.
2. Some coaching decisions were just plain bad...especially the decision to go for it with 4th and 1 at midfield.
3. Any honest and reasonable person would admit Bama got the benefits of doubt on several calls. I'd like for a very knowledgeable, unbiased person to sit down and watch the game with focus on the refs and see what they say.

I think it's very unlikely Bama played the entire highly challenged game with one false start penalty that could not be ignored, and almost impossible that offensive line magically improved that much at halftime.

I know we want to hesitate to blame the refs because someone does it after every loss, but this one bears looking into.

One coach made appropriate halftime adjustments and one completely abandoned the game plan and played not to lose. Simple as that.

That being said, a little bird told me Saban is retiring at season’s end.

Great and fair post!

I read CJH post game press conference and he said the kick off fair catch was related to the front row. I can only think that means someone on the front line of the kick team did some sort of signal 50++ yards away and that is what they called. I've never even heard
of that! Ridiculous and yes all those penalties extensee drives at key down and distance. Yeah it made a big difference tonight. I normally let it go because there is crap on both sides. Tonight it was clearly one sided.

All I say it was called pretty well. We held to and it wasn't called. We were out coached but it happens when we have a QB with a low football IQ.

contact your congressman. Have them hold a hearing on competitive integrity in collegiate athletics. There are plenty of other issues to address, including gambling and performance enhancing drugs. Haul the sec officials before Congress. If the sec isn't going to clean up this mess, some outside scrutiny other than obsequious sports journalists would be helpful.
