But they didn’t adjust the distance from the field. The bones were there so the angle/slope/distance was baked in 95 years ago with the lower bowl. All they could do was add the upper decks to the structure they had unless they did a complete tear down and rebuild like A&M did. The lack of environment isn’t from the renovations it’s from the original shape. But more so, it’s from their fans mindset. Many admit that the constant yelling isn’t their thing and they’re a sit and observe crowd/mentality until something happens to cheer for.I’m talking about the 30,000 seat, 159 skybox expansions they’ve added since 1998. The stadium is barely recognizable from before internet was household item.
This is it, he was on the field, went off to the sidelines and then came back on the field all in 1 sequence. He then went down after coming back on the field. It was just a boneheaded play on his partI posted the same on a Yahoo chat. Some Gump still insisted that UT substituted coming out of the TO and that Bama had a right to substitute a 12th man.
The ref explained it as a player CANNOT come off the field and come back in. If he goes to the sideline, he must be substituted FOR. Cannot be the same player. That is why illegal substitution.
Bama missed an opportunity in keeping the old structure. They spent enough money to have rebuilt the entire stadium. Unfortunately for them, they thought trying to be NFL-like was the end all be all. It worked in hiring Nick Saban, who was a long time NFL coach, but not so much with the stadium atmosphere. I remember even within the past 5 years people bragging on how nice Bryant Denny Stadium is. Probably still think it’s nice.. it’s just not fun.But they didn’t adjust the distance from the field. We had to have season ticket holders move on before Neyland could become electric again. The older fans were spoiled in the 90’s followed by years of dysfunction. It’s hard to get up over and over again from disappointment. Bama needs some disappointment before they can rediscover the energy from the late 2000’s.
Even if Bama’s fans are rejuvenated, the stadium is not steep enough to be as loud as Neyland can be.
IMO Ryan Williams will probably stay at Bama. Almost all of their pass plays go to him and he probably likes that. I would be surprised if he leaves.I agree 1000% . Bama most likely has multiple losses coming, HOWEVER - If they lose Saturday, the epic meltdown occurring now will be amplified to glorious proportions. I've been reading the Bama boards some. "If we win out, we are in the playoffs". Either way, one of them loses. Can't wait to see their 4 and 5 stars start hitting the portal. Ryan Williams might be 18 when he dons an orange jersey.
“Second-and-16 is not what you’re looking for, especially with the noise level being what it is here,” Alabama play by play announcer Chris Stewart said during the broadcast. "You’ve got 100,000-plus and they also pipe in crowd noise as well.”
Former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that "100%" Tennessee does use fake crowd noise. McCarron started at Alabama from 2011-13 with a win at UT in 2012.
McElroy is definitely tilting to all things UT this year. He is on a mission to prove he's (falsely) unbiased for a while. After the idiocy he spewed @ Tony Vitalo on the night of winning the national championship, he has apologized profusely and worked real hard to cover his tracks as a career move. He skeered.McCarron and McElroy are whining cry babies because Alabama got their butts kicked, They always make excuses
I'm sick of Florida Homers calling the game when we play Florida, Bama homers calling the game when we play Bama, and even Georgia homers (Pollack gone now thank god). There should be some kind of rule. Unless of course we can get Manning to call the Bama game next year in Tuscaloosa somehow.McElroy is definitely tilting to all things UT this year.
