Barbie movie is about to be the biggest messaging backfire since Full Metal Jacket.

Full Metal Jacket was released in 1987.
It was not an anti war film.
Kubrick may have been vocal against the war but was not stupid enough to risk dollars and reputation on a subject 15 years old.
I did require sutures in an ER on a Christmas Eve from putting a Barbie Dream House together back in the 70s. I thought Barbie was pink. Might have just been blood and scotch.

Kubrick clearly from interviews and comments meant to show the military transformation of men into killing machines as BAD. However it inspired a generation of guys to join the military to learn to become killing machines. It backfired.

The difference is the Barbie movie is so cringe worthy woke, it went to the other side....it is a mockery of all things woke, and thus has become a new sardonic humor comment on woke culture. Anti woke meme culture loves it. Then just add to the irony of a "Barbie" movie being about feminism...is just hilarious.

So you've seen it?

Are you sure? It came out in 1987 and military enlistment has declined since. What are you basing this on?

That movie has stood the test of time and it certainly did its part to turn me off to the military.

Tell me you are a hopeless snowflake without telling me you're a hopeless snowflake.

Warner Bros. and Mattel don't give a $hit about any of this ... They want to put butts in movie seats and sell merchandise. So far ... it's looking pretty good for them.

Yep….. you could sh&t in a cup and call it Barbie…. It will still do well… too many girls/women with fond memories of Barbie growing up.

... and although I will probably never watch a minute of this movie - I would watch just about anything else with Margot Robbie. I, Tonya was surprisingly good ... she is smokin' hot.
