Barbie movie is about to be the biggest messaging backfire since Full Metal Jacket.

As far as Full Metal Jacket goes ... I loved the first part of the movie at Parris Island. R. Lee Ermey was awesome as the drill instructor. I don't see how that would have inspired anyone to enlist in the Marines, however .... unless you just like being cussed out.

The difference is the Barbie movie is so cringe worthy woke, it went to the other side....it is a mockery of all things woke, and thus has become a new sardonic humor comment on woke culture. Anti woke meme culture loves it. Then just add to the irony of a "Barbie" movie being about feminism...is just hilarious.
Have you seen the movie?

DIL took granddaughter to see it, granddaughter lasted about 30 minutes before she was bored. She's almost 6 so she gets bored easily.

That is one thing about the boycott calls that bothers me ... they hadn't seen the movie. Nobody had. The boycott calls began way back in May. They were making assumptions.

Also ... Does the target audience of a movie about Barbie dolls watch Fox News, or pay attention to politics at all? Did Ted Cruz really think his boycott strategy was going to keep young girls from seeing this movie? The boycott stuff was so stupid.

I doubt that full metal jacket was banned in Vietnam.
LOL.

It's probably more popular than The Deer Hunter. The Russian roulette scenes upset the Vietnamese government so much that Christopher Walken and Robert DeNiro were banned just for being in those scenes.

Seen that flick many times but never knew anything about the bold comments, thanks.

Critical drinker's review of this was pretty good. He recommends mom's to not be tricked by the marketing. This movie is not remotely interesting for little girls as the creators seem to actually hate Barbie (see Rian Johnson hating Luke Skywalker as a parallel).
