And offense doesn’t matter if you can’t stop anybody. Kentucky is a top 15 offense in the country and they’re barely in the tournament. Defense is half of the game whether you like it or notDefense doesn't matter if you can't score. Look at the past 10 national champions. All of them were top 10 in Kenpom offensive efficiency. You can't win every tournament game 55-54. Some team you're playing is going to shoot 50% from the field and 40% from 3 and then you are screwed.
We already have an active NCAA investigation on campus. We don’t need another one right now.And that's on Barnes. He got spooked with the tampering claims with Collins and chose to ride with what he had. It's done, but let's see if an old dog can learn new tricks. What's he gonna do at PG for next season? Will he ride with ZZ and Edwards or dip his toes into the portal again?
Early in the season is what the post you quoted is referencing. Rob Lewis reported multiple times on the VQ podcasts that there was nothing structurally wrong with his knee AFTER the procedure and the Doctor’s were lost for what was bothering him because nothing was showing up. No one doubted it hurt but playing couldn’t and wouldn’t damage anything because he was healed.Source?
Or maybe from the film he got those chances combined with the minutes in practice they determined that was unlikely and they were better off giving those minutes to Key & Zeigler (who clearly is still developing).
Just as you say this, word gets out that our baseball program is now under investigation for tampering in the recruitment of Maui Ahuna. Now do you get why Barnes backed off Collins? The NCAA has recently said they were going to start cracking down on tampering. And that's on Barnes. He got spooked with the tampering claims with Collins and chose to ride with what he had. It's done, but let's see if an old dog can learn new tricks. What's he gonna do at PG for next season? Will he ride with ZZ and Edwards or dip his toes into the portal again?

BJ Edwards is a more talented player than Tyreke Key and would be able to score more than Key. He would have a few more blown defensive assignments. But, everyone is shi&*ing on Edwards ability and the guy is a talented player who dragged Catholic to the State title against much better teams in the state's toughest division.Ahh, so the guy who’s been worse offensively and defensively is said spark, makes sense. Maybe we should try some of the walk ons too while we’re at it?!
Yes, it is a risk. But we've lost 6 of 8 and try to do something different. I swear, you guys are like Rick Barnes burner accounts. There is no evidence that Edwards would be any more effective than those two offensively, yet there is an abundance of evidence, not to mention practice reps that you aren't privy to that would certainly seem to indicate ZZ and Vescovi can defend circles around Edwards.
So, you're advocating taking a risk that Edwards MIGHT provide a spark, no matter how big, on offense while knowingly sacrificing multiple possessions on defense. That feels like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
I'm not saying to bench ZZ or Santi. I'm saying that is Key is not engaged and missing shots to give his minutes to Edwards. Have to have a 3rd guard. But what makes you think Edwards is the answer? You’ve yet to answer that fundamental question in favor of just demanding change for the sake of change. You do realize that it is far more likely that benching ZZ or Vescovi in favor of Edwards leads to worse offense AND worse defense over the course of time, right? You just haven’t presented any case evidence that Edwards is a better option. Your entire argument is built on hope. Hope is not a plan.
Barnes just said JJJ and Phillips are expected to play tomorrow.[/QUOTE

You’re adding a lot of idiot sauce to Lewis’s actual quotes. Not having structural damage is very different than being “healed”. He had serious swelling and limited mobility. You can’t play with that kind of swelling and restricted range of motion. The only thing they determined was that he didn’t need further surgery. He wasn’t by any means “healed”. He also wasn’t cleared to play by trainers. The opposite is true.
And Tyreke Key broke TN HS playoff scoring records, so that take doesn’t hold much water.BJ Edwards is a more talented player than Tyreke Key and would be able to score more than Key. He would have a few more blown defensive assignments. So presenting an argument that doesn't jive, rank and file, with your own equates to being a Rick Barnes burner account?Yes, it is a risk. But we've lost 6 of 8 and try to do something different. I swear, you guys are like Rick Barnes burner accounts.
Let's just keep doing the same thing and playing guys who can't create their own shot. I'm sure we'll do well as usual in the tournament. So presenting an argument that doesn't jive, rank and file, with your own equates to being a Rick Barnes burner account?
Sorry that presenting the facts and an alternate theory gets you rustled. Are you a BJ Edwards burner account?
