The Odum Situation......

There is more than likely more to the Story than what is posted.

Kinda a surprising move to me. Idk how much better they can do than Odom. He was a Tiger through and through and seemed to have them headed towards the right way. Just a bad streak and maybe a bit of a knee jerk reaction?
I agree. What do they really expect over there? I think he did an admirable job under some really difficult situations not of his making. Here’s hoping they go all “Tennessee” with their search and wind up a complete tire fire

Poor Kelly Bryant. At the right spot he could have put up some impressive numbers. Instead he hitched his wagon to Dooley.

I thought DD might end up getting Barry fired. Weird hire as he'd never been a coordinator. Or a good coach.

Missouri was on fire when they joined the SEC. I hope they enjoyed it because that is as good as its going to be for them for a long while.
I made a post on around NCAA, about
Missouri. Not exactly my favorite team.

I will say whoever they replace him with I hope he doesnt have them hitting like they were in our game. They were a pretty solid D. If we didnt have really great WRs, it would have been a real problem.

Mizzou football program is going to wander through the wilderness for a rather long time methinks. They could not replace Odum with someone better IMO. They have a relatively new AD over there, only been there a year or two, came from the west coast, so he's not a die hard tiger nor did he owe any loyalty to Odum it seems. My best guess? This is where they hire coaching consultants who will push the top 3 coaches who pay to be part of their pool and it will be a no name from somewhere. Mizzo goes to the bottom of the SEC East for the foreseeable future as every 3 or 4 years they fire their HC and the AD exclaims "it's not my fault, this is the best the consultants from the whole country have been providing us." The article mentions they had a recent stadium expansion?? They mean that high school stadium they can't fill now? LOL They're in big trouble.

It's not just the football program that is in trouble. Remember about five years or so ago when there were massive protests on campus and the football team was threatening to not play and forfeit the rest of their games?

That really hurt the school in terms of enrollment. They had several brand new dorms which were basically sitting empty for years. At one point they were even trying to rent them out to alumni for football weekends to at least get some revenue from them.

Not sure how they have rebounded, but it was an ugly ugly situation for them on multiple levels.

Odom was 13-19 in the SEC during his tenure and they could go after a MAC type coach that is ready to move up the ladder.

It's Missouri, they don't recruit high level recruits.

But interesting. Not sure who Missouri could realistically get that would be a sure fire upgrade.

I think they messed up firing Odom. The wheels came off the wagon this year, but they had some tough breaks to go along with the general crap show that university has been in since all the PC and being "woke", whatever the hell that is, has been going on.

I think he is a good coach, came up under a good one in Pinkel, and deserved more time. Since Pinkel won the East, UGA and Florida have improved tremendously and we now appear to have gotten our act together. Even Kentucky has become a more solid program. Their recruiting is not going to match the three top programs in the East and probably not South Carolina either. They are never going to make a big name hire like Jimbo either.

I think the new AD has made a mess that will last for years.
