Basketball Coaching Rumor Mill Heating Up...

He'll have no shortage of rebuilding jobs available and for large dollars, depending upon type and duration of personal sanctions.

I think people are going to be surprised at how limited Pearl's options are. There are a whole bunch of ADs who are now realizing what his peers have been saying about Tanning Bed for 20 years is true. It's not jealousy, it's fact.

Sidney Lowe is probably out at NC State. They and GT are being mentioned as landing spots for Tubby. But I wouldn't want him.

Lowe is most definitely out at NCSU...bags might have even been packed before last nights loss. Tubby was mentioned for NCSU when they went with Lowe, he may be interested now that there is more talent.

Still will be hard for NCSU to get that great coach they want with their proximity to UNC and Duke.

I even heard Pearl's name as someone to replace Lowe..I laughed...alot!!!

I can say with pretty good certainty Mcdonald is gone at WKU.

Hardwood when do you expect us to hear something official on KMac? Hilltopper Haven is all over the place and nothing seems definitive other than he's probably out. There's been rumors if he parted ways with the staff he'd be given another year which I hope is false. His personal off-court issues combined with on-court performance do not warrant another year. I know I won't support the university fanatically or financially if McDonald is retained.

His record and loss of control with the team is reason enough, they quit on him and basically ran their own game the 2nd half of the season. This latest rumor however, of his getting it on with a student might just send it all over the edge. I don't know the truth to that or not, but its certainly gaining speed. Boosters and sponsors (i.e Houchens Industries) are pissed, and thats all it takes in this town to earn a one way ticket out.

He's definitely with a younger girl. How old? Not sure. Saw him out with her at Cracker Barrel bout a month ago. It amazes me that he's that arrogant and unashamed, that he would willingly go out in public with her. And this was on a Sunday after church, so it wasn't as though it was a slow time.

Many seem to think he'll be sticking around another year now and just cleaning house. Ransdell needs to step back and let Bjork do his job, or he'll lose him like he did Wood.

This is why it's the best time of the year. A lot of rumors and I'm sure most will happen. I hope TJ stays at LSU forever!!! Why no talk of the Murray State coach? I really think he'd do well at a higher level

He's had problems this year. It's not hard to win at Murray, in all honesty. Tons of history, top notch facilities(all in comparison to other mid-majors) and a rabid fanbase. I'd wait it out to see what Kennedy does consistently at MSU before I hired him.

If she's a legal adult, it's really no one's business.

Hearing more today that WKU might be keeping Kmac and cleaning house on his staff, as BGVOL said. I did find out today that WKU serves beer at baseball games, so I might just take in 9 innings later.

His wife left him JG because of his running around with college girls. He was caught trying to solicit a prostitute in ATL but the school and its counsel did a good job of covering that up. When you're in a public position such as a college coach, especially in a small town like Bowling Green, and you're representing that university there is definitely an ethical aspect to your job, both professionally and personally.

Can't believe you hadn't heard thst Hardwood. There's not a better place to be on a spring weekend than Nick Denes field. You need to make it to the UK/WKU game at the BG Ballpark.

I can think of another coach who roughly fits that profile.

No doubt, I just assumed since they can't serve it at football and basketball games, it was the same for baseball. I was there last year for that game when UK got murdered. Looked more like a mens slowpitch score.

Updates:

- Wyoming is talking to former Oregon HC Ernie Kent and are close to a
deal.

- Early names at Utah are Virginia HC Tony Bennett, St. Mary's HC Randy
Bennett, former Alabama HC Mark Gottfried, ODU HC Blaine Taylor, LSU HC Trent
Johnson and Reggie Theus.

- Lots of chatter with Pat Knight and Texas A&M CC

- Providence College will look at Fairfield's Ed Cooley (#1 candidate at this point), George Mason's Jim Larranaga, Richmond's Chris Mooney and Syracuse asst Mike Hopkins.

- We continue to hear that LSU HC Trent Johnson would be interested in the Utah job if it were to open.

- Our sources tell us that John Pelphrey will be terminated on Friday or Monday. This was coming regardless of the photos of himself and two HS juniors.Bill Self will be the first HC offered the Arkansas job, with a package in the neighborhood of 3.25 mil/year. If Self says no, like most expect, Buzz Williams will be next in line.

- This has been confirmed through numerous sources, including juco and D1
coaches, along with media personnel. Pelphrey along with Tennessee's Bruce Pearl
are "Dead Men Walking".

FYI, McDonald is returning to WKU with a new four year deal, that includes a paycut. Go figure.

This is completely laughable! McDonald has made a once proud program, the joke of the Sun Belt and he's rewarded with 4 more years? Giving him another year, especially with this great incoming class, is understandable, but nothing beyond that, until he proves he's worth it.

We think you suck so badly we're going to cut your pay, but we're going to obligate ourselves to you for four more years. Brilliant. Only in modern college athletics.

I don't understand the Tony Bennett to Utah idea, but it apparently has merit. He must really not like it at UVA.

I was pretty shocked as well. Is Utah in the PAC a better job than UVA?

I also heard Barbee was not thrilled at Auburn.
