Is this serious? Would you rather have one recruit or go to the Final Four for the first time in your program's long history? Which would do more for a program...one player (who may be a one and done) or a trip to the Final Four?

If you think option B is best for our program you're insane.

I'd go with B.


Realistically, do we have a legit shot with Looney? I haven't seen or heard much other than Duke's pursuit of him, but I haven't looked for much either.

There's a lot of programs who have been to a final four and it didn't do jack for their program...a debate can be made either way.

From what I've hear UT is still strongly in the mix for him.

And I'd take B too. Unless A was changed to championship :)

Eric Bossi (rivals national analyst) said yesterday that his pick as of today would be Tennessee. So yea, we definitely have a legit shot at Looney.

For me it's A and it's not close. Is Looney good enough to make us an NCAA title contender? I am pretty shocked that people are lining up behind B.

Looney, Stokes, Hubbs, Thompson, JRich, plus the other freshman next year will set us up to win for more than a year. Next year without adding Looney is barely a tourney team at best. You have to factor in the future.

Option A is an easy choice for me. A final four banner would look nice in TBA, and a deep run like that gets us a lot of positive national exposure. There are intangibles too... winning does wonders.

I think Littlecat said it best if A was a championship then all day long. But from a recruits point of view a school making it to the sweet 16 or elite 8 would be just as good as making it to the final 4.IMO If he already likes school and coach.

And yes I think Looney is good enough to get the next group of talent to a deep run in the tourney.

People saying B are nuts. You take the final four. Missing on Looney would stink, but making a final 4 will have other "Looney's" signing on the dotted line to play here.

We will barely make the tourney next season. Hubbs will be our only threat. I'll take a year of Looney a possible deep run next season and being able to attract talent in the '15 class. It's not that nuts. Martin makes the tourney this year and doesn't the next. He's probably fired IMO or at least on the hot seat.

Basketball is the rare sport in which 1 guy can truly make a team that much better. If Looney is as good as advertised, if he's paired with stokes and Hubbs we would absolutely be national title contenders.

The questions is hypothetical. In scenario A, you make the final four this year. Nobody would be on the hotseat after that.

I'm still not ready to decide my answer, but those of you who are screaming for option A need to consider that option B is unknown. Who's to say, with some breaks that fall our way, that we can't knock on the door of a FF this year.

Option B could still net the positive results of Option A. Crazy thought, but this is a hypothetical, so nothing's off the table.
