It appears Young can play multiple positions. That means he is a little more valuable to a team with limited numbers. If you fill a backup position at RB or CB and a return/special teams spot, that's pretty good value out of one scholarship.
There is no value in a 5'7 CB, the game has evolved into taller, faster WR's, if TN is going to trot out a 5'7 corner against the likes of AJ Green or Julio Jones then he'd better be a sure thing, best cover corner ever with a ton of leaping ability.
Yep. He also brings a speed and play making dynamic that this team doesn't have. Also, I'm OK with taking a bit of a reach to avoid another Cobb situation. Passing on Cobb still chaps me...no excuse for that one Fulmer.
Brilliant. The goal is a stable program chalked full of 2 and 3* players capable of beating UAB in double overtime.
Obviously, you know how to lose.
This team has plenty of 4* recruits and I guess you think Boise State sucks. Almost all of their classes have ranked around 80th.
Leave the coaching to the coaches because it doesn't sound like you know much yourself.
Thunder is correct. He will fill an unoccupied role. I know the kid isn't Demps or Harvin, but 1000 yards on 52 touches is stout. From the tape, a lot of those yards seem to be in traffic.
I was blown away by his junior film...and from what I'm reading and hearing he's taking it to another level as a senior...20 yards per touch is unreal...even against the competition he's playing...
My only question is...who is this guys coach? 52 touches in 5 games (10 per)...for clearly your best player? That doesn't make sense...oh well...
If he's recruited as an every down back then yes this is a bad pickup....but if he's recruited to be an "offensive specialist" then I think he fits that role perfectly
I understand that this staff needs to pick it up in recruiting, but this was also a political beast. After what Randall Cobb has done at UK, if the locals watched another homegrown kid go to any D1 school and put up significant numbers it would have been a bad scene.
It also looks like this guy has learned how to get it done without Dooley for those who keep crediting CDD with his recruiting.

This is who our incoming class will need to beat.
Of course, we may develop them better and outsmart Saban on gameday.
More recent video.
He went 7-6 in 2007 and landed the #1 class in the country.
He's an elite recruiter even when he's not winning.
