Beer (and beer pics!)

I would recommend browsing beer advocate.

That's kind of how I got into it; I really enjoy looking through that site.
Rarely go there anymore. The Alstroms rule the site very heavy handed and I pretty much only show up on the South forum. It's a great site to get information from such as the places tab whenever you are traveling about and I find the reviewers scores to be fairly accurate.

Anyone tried Shock Top's Pretzel Wheat that comes in their winter seasonal variety pack? I'm not a fan of wheat beer normally but that stuff has got to be the most unique taste I've ever come across in a beer. It tastes so much like a soft pretzel that you could damn near salt the rim of your glass. Only problem is that my girlfriend is not much of a beer drinker but LOVES this stuff. So I tend to let her have all three which leaves me with 9 Shock Tops of different varieties that I don't care for.. The things you do for a woman.

Anyway, just thought I would throw this out there in case anyone is interested. You won't be able to get them once the winter seasonal variety packs are gone!!

Seen this post and picked up the variety pack. The Twisted Pretzel is unique but my favorite was the Shockolate wheat. I'll be picking up another variety pack before winter is over. I'm also not a big fan of wheat beers but it's good to broaden my horizons.

Any idea what you're drinking for the big game? Probably several West 6th IPA, Ananda and them start hittin some BA stouts later. Maybe Mocha Wednesday.

I have a blue moon variety pack that I bought last night that I need to drink. I tried the Cinnamon Horchata one and I wanted to pour it on my cinnamon toast crunch.

watching it at a friends house in Nashville, so may try to stop at a bottle shop and get something a little more exotic too. Never cared for blue moon THAT much.

I typically don't like overly hoppy/bitter beer, but I have been getting a growler of Hop Quiz by Nappa Smith. Great balance. Not sure of the style. Also have a Belhaven with the widget left over.

Finishing off some Sue and also have a growler of Abita root beer. Have 3 kids so can't drink the hard stuff all night.

My go-to is some kind of stout or porter, usually Trader Joe's Stockyard Stout or Sierra Nevada Stout. But sometimes I like an IPA just for a nice hoppy late-night brew.

Imagine my pleasant confusion at discovering Sierra Nevada Blindfold BLACK IPA ...

And if you are ever in South Louisiana and see NOLA Brown on tap, try that for a nice hearty middle of the road good tasting brown ale.

Abita grapefruit ipa was pretty good. A little unsettling seeing to see all those chunks of grapefruit floating around in it, though. Next up is ballast point grapefruit ipa. I'll let you know which is superior.
