Beer (and beer pics!)

If anyone is looking for some good craft brews in the Knoxville area, I suggest coming by McScrooges. We have 25 beers on tap for growlers and then a wide selection of bottled beer, anything from high grav, to IPAs, to porters, and more.

I don't think I've been by since you expanded your growler station. Gonna be in town Thursday and will check it out. Are you guys doing the big Black Friday sale this year?

We have a good selection of stuff, just don't have Heady or Hill Farmstead. That said, they don't get alot of stuff we do. The grass is always greener :)

Ha that is true. What I should have said is I'm a huge IPA fan and having hem that fresh was probably what the best part was. I will say that I thought hill farmsteads offerings were better then heady.

I think so, but you'd probably need to double check that. You should get yourself a nice scotch, whiskey, or bourbon to go with your growler :)

Love McScrooges.

I have just recently been hired by McScrooges so I'm not sure how it works out for people getting their hands on some Pappy, but I would err on the side of safety.

Spaten Oktoberfest from a local growler shop. One of the best beers I've ever tasted

New Belgium Salted Carmel Brown Ale may be my new favorite mass produced beer. It's sooo damn good. Best I've had in a long long time.

Interesting that you posted this because I picked it up in a variety pack for the first time yesterday. We know the local Ben and Jerry's owner, so I was intrigued. Thought it wasn't bad, but I probably can't drink more than one at a time. It's a dessert type of beer for me.

Yeah, I was at a keg tapping for this last week. It's ok but probably not something I will go out and buy.

Chattanooga folks: Sigler's on East Brainerd Rd is having an event tomorrow night with Devil's Backbone that should be pretty awesome.

If any of you live near Greenville, SC, I'll be there tomorrow working the Greenville Craft Beer Fest at the baseball stadium. Should be an excellent day to drink beer!

Just finished 6 days in Miami and headed to Tampa for 2 nights. Have had Cigar City before but just had Invasion Pale Ale for the first time. Thought it was very good. Also had Bell's Two Hearted Ale as well and enjoyed it.

Worst packed box I've ever received. It was sent in the same case box in which the three main beers were picked up, flimsy this cardboard dividers included. No insulation for the bottom of the box as well but by some miracle it made it with all bottles intact. My fedex driver was even amazed:

Also, going to FOBAB in Chicago this weekend, stopping in ST Louis to pick up some Abraxas and Coffee Abraxas while hitting up Side Project. Probably head through Indianapolis on the way back but not really up to date on what's there.

Maybe Upland will have some of their sours available?

If you haven't tried the Dogfish Head Midas Touch, I suggest it. It has a nice abv of 9%, yet still has a rather light body. It is very drinkable and quite tasty.
