Beer (and beer pics!)

From Eugene Oregon. I don't know if they distribute nationally, but it is worth looking for.

I haven't heard of it. Deschutes doesn't even distribute in TN. I am on vacation with my family in the Midwest and able try some more Deschutes. I don't drink many porters, but I tried one from Odell last night that was good.

I thought you could get Deschutes everywhere. Their Black Butte Porter is pretty good also.

Not sure if you can get it in Nashville, but you can't get it in Memphis. It has gotten better, but the West TN distributors have a grip on the market and control how they see fit. Trying to taste more Deschutes, Avery, and the other Midwestern beers I can't get.

Here's a link to help see what's distributed where. Deschutes shows limited, that can mean only a limited selection of their beers are available in the entire state or that all beers are available but not distributed through the entire state. In Deschutes case I believe it means they aren't distributed across the entire state because I don't think we get them in middle TN.

Ended up grabbing a variety of things on the way back from Iowa. Toppling Goliath, Deschutes, Odell, Surly, Ska, and a bomber of a Firestone Walker DIPA. We also stayed in Hannibal last night and ate at the Mark Twain Brewery. I didn't think the beer was all that great, but it was a fun novelty.

Glad to see you were able to get Toppling Goliath. Some friends flew up there last week for a release. 1hr flight there, 45 min back...lol.

Didn't get anything special- just got the regular lager and passed on the oatmeal stout that were in grocery stores. I asked, and the guy said everything else is always in high demand. I tried some of the local ones to Okoboji and brought the chocolate stout back. It was a fun time.

Guys, I’m very sad to report that VN poster and mid state craft beer advocate VolnTitan lost his battle with cancer this morning. You may remember him as the individual the good folks at Mantra Brewing created GooGoo Gish as a fund raiser for. Please keep his family in your prayers.
