Beer (and beer pics!)

I can't see much of that. What all did you get? I was in Iowa last summer, and the only big one there is Toppling Goliath. Also sell Surly there. I know there are some highly rated breweries in New England.
KBBS, 2 Assassins, SOSUS and some Side Project beers were the highlights.

I think they sell the BA variants on site for an outrageous price. I might do one sometime.

I haven't had the BA one. They release that in a different time of year. Last year, I got the Coffee Cake on site, and they sell it for $20/ bottle. I found a regular one at a store for $16. But most stores limit you to 1 or 2. I am trying to get more this year. If you haven't had either of those, I will try to snag you one if you are interested.

Coffee Cake would be awesome. I could pay and send a label or could trade a HF Juicy or something.

Just had a Prairie Ales Bomb on tap, first time I have had this and it was quite good. Lots of flavors with a long finish and a subtle note from the chilies.

I had both Bomb and Christmas Bomb for the first time around the holidays. Thought they were both good.

If you live in Nashville and don't go to Southern Grist, why not?! Went last week and two of the best beers I have had in a while from them. German Chocolate Cake and if they still have some cans, they have a double dry hopped IPA (Anniversary beer) that was amazing.

Has anyone tried the Bearded Iris brews out of Nashville yet? Attention Please is a deliciously smooth DIPA with a unique tropical twang.

I had that one the other day as well and liked it. Their brewery is nice, but I walked in to a super hipster open mic slam poetry night when I went. I heard a poem about being raped and having an abortion in the few minutes I was inside, so I had my beer outside.

???? I would think that kind of stuff would not help business, but maybe they don't care. I couldn't tolerate that if I were a business owner.

Finally had Pliny the Younger by Russian River Brewing - my personal Moby Dick. Very good triple IPA, but way overhyped.

I have wanted to try this for years, but was not willing to stand in line at the brewery for 8-12 hours and did not luck out on being at one of their accounts when they tapped a keg. Today was my 6th attempt in the last week and a half and I finally succeeded.

It takes all kinds I guess. Was a decent crowd there for the middle of the week, but it definitely wasn't my type of event. I'd recommend checking the website and seeing what's going on that night if you decide to go haha.

I've been trying to get my hands on some Creature Comforts Tropicalia out of Athens, GA. Finally did about a week ago and love it. I have to be in the right mood for an IPA, but this is one I could drink any day.

One of the best IPAs, IMHO. I wish they would sell in TN!

Is it seasonal or year round? Do you know if they distribute throughout the state? I only make it that way in early summer. Thanks for any info.

I believe it's year round. They actually just announced they're expanding to a new location solely to increase the production of it. I don't believe they distribute out of state. I just recently found it in Kroger, and it's almost always gone. They seem to be the only chain store that has it.
