Beer (and beer pics!)

Went to a party Saturday night. We opened a 2016 Bourbon County, a 2015 Wiseacre Astronaught Status, a Death by Coconut, a Bible Belt, and a Prairie Ales Bomb. Good stuff.

Wow, really nice stuff. I know a lot of people love Death by Coconut, but it seemed very artificial in flavor to me. Haven't had Bible Belt, but all the other beers are top notch, 2016 Astronaut Status gets released this Friday, btw.

I like coconut and thought it was decent. All of the others were better though. Because Bible Belt is a Prairie collaboration with Evil Twin, I thought it tasted similarly to Bomb. Bomb was probably a little sweeter. I enjoyed both. I might try to make it by Wiseacre on Friday to grab a couple.

I'll be there. Not sure on the time though.

Suttrees had a Ballast Point tap takeover. Their Belgian Triple and Peppermint Victory at Sea were notable limited releases. I still think they have the best IPA around.

3/5??? That had to be disappointing! I've got a '14 and '15 stored away. May crack into the older one over the holidays.

The vast majority of the 2015s were infected. Drink it now as the longer you wait, the greater the odds of the infection taking place. I saw where someone was playing '15 BCBS roulette. 5 out of 6 were infected.

$*@&! I hadn't heard, but just read up online. My bottle is in the affected dates. I've emailed GI to see if they will still offer to make things right. I wonder if I should still chill it and give it a try?

Can't hurt to try and you have already passed the deadline. I still have a bottle or two to open up myself.

This thread needs a bump. So here's my haul from my last two weeks in Iowa, Boston and Vermont.

Having a flight at Gilman Brewing Company, a new brewery in Berkeley. Three Saisons, IPA, Porter and a Stout. Not a bad one in the bunch, but the saisons stood out.

I can't see much of that. What all did you get? I was in Iowa last summer, and the only big one there is Toppling Goliath. Also sell Surly there. I know there are some highly rated breweries in New England.
