Ole Miss is rumored to be after Alabama defensive coordinator, Pete Golding. Alabama's next defensive coordinator could be Jeremy Pruitt. Stranger things have happened.

Link to an Alabama website I read... Alabama Football: Pete Golding to Ole Miss rumors (bamahammer.com)

disclaimer: I am an Alabama graduate. Not trying to stir up trouble. Just some info that may be of interest to the Vol community.
I don’t think Bama does anything till they know what the punishment is going to be from the NCAA. The NCAA still hasn’t handed down any punishment. We shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out what’s going to happen.

JP is a headed for a show-cause penalty, so why would Bama even go there? Seriously, there are better choices out there. Does JP have the goods on Ole Nick?
Ya know he does and so does jimbo fishers. Saban kind of shut up once ole jimmy called him out last may. Saban is one of the biggest cheaters eva.

Why wouldn’t they go there? Alabama taught Pruitt everything he knows. His only mistake was thinking he could get away with what they do at bama somewhere else..

They should just go ahead and see if Rush wants to coach the O. Also can’t believe that Weinke has a job at G Tech. No way he didn’t know what was going on.
May as well go and get Rush lol..I think Bama rehiring Pruitt in any capacity is an extremely sleazy look, as was his whole ‘coach rehabilitation program’ thing he had going on there (come at me) lol

Pearl was hit with a 3 year penalty and Tyndall with a 10 year penalty, JP's penalty will be more than Pearl's and likely as high as Tyndall's. Bama would need to present a GREAT argument at a NCAA hearing in order to hire him. But hey, if Bama wants to go thru the administrative BS that comes with a 10 year show cause penalty then more power to them.

There are better and equally talented guys out there without the baggage that he will be carrying.

A coach with a show cause can be hired, Pearl actually had a few months left on his when he was hired at Auburn.

The school just has to do additional monitoring of the coach and submit reports every 6 months to the NCAA. And any penalties laid out by the NCAA based on the coach's previous violations will follow him to the new position. For example, Pearl wasn't able to recruit at Auburn until his show cause expired. Certainly Pruitt would have a length ban on recruiting that would be in effect at any future school.

I think Pruitt has a bigger issue with his attempted blackmail of UT. How can a school or any other employer trust him after that?

Pruitt/ Neids/ Rush/ Chip Long/ Chip Lindsey/ Dale Pruitt/Will Friend. The North Alabama mafia. It’s like watching an episode of “Justified” with less interesting characters.

He won't be able to reunite with Toot Toot though, that guy's off to make his fortune in the CFL. No more McDonald's bags for him!

Yep, believe Pearl had 5 months left which probably wasn't that much of an admin burden for the Barn. Read somewhere that he is the first coach hired at a power conference school while still serving a show-cause. Says a lot. Integrity issues are hard to overcome but Bruce took his punishment it like a man.

Pearl's had 1 major, JP is looking at 5. Bruce couldn't recruit or evaluate under his show cause period. JP is looking at the same restrictions for much longer time.

You're the blackmail is much bigger stuff.

and more unintelligible...
Who was the poster who would always report how Pruitt was damaging relationships with high schools all across the state and people were like nahhhh… lol we probably owe him an apology (though I was a lurker at the time).. I probably would have stepped in it lol

I don't know what everyone is going on about Bama for? That team hasn't performed the same since they lost that analyst they had who washed Nick's car. It's been downhill since they lost him.

Sounds like they should make him OC and head coach in waiting.
