Bernie Sanders Thread

Calling me a socialist isn't offensive. Very emotional responses. Craig Jelinek is a great example of a CEO who isn't a money hungry hoarder.

A - claiming that no billionaires "worked for their money" is completely false. Not every inherited their money and even if they did at some point someone worked for it and as an individual you reserve the right to pass that wealth on to your children. You should review the list.

20 Billionaires Who Started With Nothing - Business Insider

B - who the F are you to decide who deserves what?

Also I'm not deciding anything. Billionaires will still be billionaires. I'm not saying take all their money, but yea they should pay a lot higher taxes.

Yes. I do. The difference between 2.9 billion a year and 2.1 billion means a lot less than the difference between 20 K and 35 K. If people are out and working everyday they should be fairly compensated. Do you really think billionaires deserve their money? A majority inherited It and did nothing. It's garbage. That was a stupid retort no offense

Please tell me the dumb part of that post.

I don't think you understand what work is. This is where liberals go wrong. You want the same compensation at the end of the day, but not for the same work. Burger flipping and box sorting are brain-dead work. Anyone can do it. Being busy doesn't mean you're special. Managerial and other types of work have significantly more difficult decisions and risk associated. Having to worry about a company's future and setting up business relationships has far impact than the guys at the bottom. I can go on forever, but you should at least see where this is going.

I don't think you understand that I have said nothing about everyone making the same amount of money. I just said it would be better if the pay for workers at all levels was closer to that of CEOs. Yes they make more difficult decisions, but the money gap is ridiculous. It wasn't always this way like some of you claim. Yes there will always be classes, cool, but the wealth distribution in this country is a joke. Am I envious? I guess so, I mean it would be nice to be a billionaire I think anyone would agree. Not sure what that matters. But here just read this Top CEOs Make 300 Times More than Typical Workers: Pay Growth Surpasses Stock Gains and Wage Growth of Top 0.1 Percent | Economic Policy Institute

Wealth distribution is a ridiculous term. People determine their own wealth through their own work ethic and good decisions.

How much closer to CEO's should EVERYONE be? I find some of their pay to be quite high but it's none of my business or yours. Those companies can do whatever the F they want. If you don't like it then don't support those companies.

The 45 million Americans living below the poverty line? Maybe..

They have almost no tax liability. If they have kids, the EITC means that at tax time they receive thousands of dollars over and above whatever they may have paid in. There are federal, state and local programs to help them pay for food, lodging, healthcare, college, daycare, cell phone, internet, etc. None of which are provided with any expectations on the recipient.

I'm not saying living at or below the poverty line is easy or even desirable, but poor people aren't poor because Warren Buffet is a billionaire.
