Ive seen them all and alot of them multiple times, to the point Ive memorized them. It would be nice if some new ones came out

Don't know if you've seen it or not, and it's not up to par with most of the rest of the movies listed, but Black Mass is pretty good. It's somewhat recent, came out in 2015 I think.

Nicky Santoro: I think in all fairness, I should explain to you exactly what it is that I do. For instance tomorrow morning I'll get up nice and early, take a walk down over to the bank and... walk in and see and, uh... if you don't have my money for me, I'll... crack your ****in' head wide-open in front of everybody in the bank. And just about the time that I'm comin' out of jail, hopefully, you'll be coming out of your coma. And guess what? I'll split your ****in' head open again. 'Cause I'm ****in' stupid. I don't give a **** about jail. That's my business. That's what I do.

Thought that movie was boring as hell. Fell asleep watching it on a plane, and I don't sleep on planes.

That movie honestly never did anything for me. I remember all kinds of hype coming out about that movie when it first released, saying it was one of Stallone's best performances ever. Then I went and saw and I walked out thinking "meh." DeNiro's brief screen time in this film completely outclasses Stallone's.

All of the best contemporary ones have been mentioned so I will bring up a classic old one: White Heat (1949). James Cagney made for a great gangster.

The Godfather
Goodfellas
The Godfather II
Donnie Brasco
Mean Streets
Once Upon a Time in America
The Departed
Miller's Crossing
Carlito's Way
Casino

Miller’s Crossing is a top 5 movie...PERIOD for me. Actually hated it the first two times I watched it. Something (I think free cable) kept making me watch it until I loved it...genius Coen movie. Need to watch Donnie Branco again.

Does Heat fall into this category?

They weren’t really organized crime imo. Great bank robber flick tho. Anything to get Pacino and DeNiro together. Next to last decent role for Val Kilmer too. (Other one was Deja Vu).

Basically in this order:

Godfather
Godfather II
Goodfellas
The Departed
Pulp Fiction
Snatch
Road to Perdition
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
True Romance
Miller's Crossing
Get Shorty
A Bronx Tale
Casino
My Blue Heaven

City of God is awesome, but probably not what people think of when they hear "gangster movie".

Good list. Loved 'em all except "My Blue Heaven"(going to check it out), never seen or heard of it. I would add:

Mystic River
Reservoir Dogs
Jackie Brown (gangsta, imo)
In Bruges
Donnie Brasco
Blow
Savages
The Counselor
Traffic
