Best/Worst Fans

I find it almost UNBELIEVABLE anyone can be mentioned ahead of uf. Obviously some here have never attended a game at "the dump". Note: some uf fans refer it to as the swamp. UF Student Fans generally are complete idiots, NO CLASS, unruly, oboixious, drunk, arrogant, vulgar, spoiled, disgrace to the sport (fb) and oh did I mention they have NO CLASS!

A shameful example for the SEC, the NCAA, and the free human race.

Of course, ALL schools have their overly enthusiast ignorant fans, but at uf those fans are the ones you want next to you.

I've stated this before. I travel quite extensively & uf has got a bad reputation evrywhere I go. Simple to under stand if you've ever been to a game there.

I have vowed I will NEVER attend another game at the dump until their administration OR the SEC OR the NCAA OR the National Guard does something to control their spoiled rotten, drunk, always want to fight someone student population. What a bunch of a.h. fans they have!!!!!!

I agree, Florida fans are the worst ones I have encountered, mainly during the Spurrier era. They toned it down some after he left.

Ohio State - absolutely NO class whatsoever. I had a lady spit at me during the Fiesta Bowl....unreal.

UF students are complete idiots. Granted, two students dont represent a whole student body, but how do you get kicked out of a game for bad language? Well UF students figured out how to. From stories i've heard, Bama fans are pretty bad as well.

you use the term "lady" very loosely.

Nothing like a good old fashioned overgeneralization to demonstrate your brain power (or lack thereof).

Then again, in your defense, I suppose the thread called for it.

I've got 2 bama grads in my family and they aren't bad (maybe I'm biased). Their bark is worse than their bite. I've been to a couple games (won and lost) and was treated very well. However, my views are well known on UF.

One of the best times ever was at UGA. We rented an RV and parked in what became an all red lot. We ate, drank and even "met" a couple of UGA hotties. Of course after the game, a 22-3 UT win, the lot was empty but our RV was rockin'! :dance2:

This entire thread calls for subjective judgments based upon purely personal experiences. A lot of people on this board talk about how terrible the LSU fans are. They are by far my favorite group of fans in the SEC. The only fans I would consider labeling with an unpleasant generalization are the good folks from Auburn. I've disliked the vast majority of those folks I've encountered.

Little bit. I guess I just don't like the thread. You can find jackasses on any campus. I really think a lot of the attacks in the thread on UF fans have more to do with the fact that for the last ten years our football teams have been such rivals. Both teams have stolen a game or two away from the other. Natural to resent that.

I just don't like being lumped in with the 1 million other Florida fans. And I do doubt that they would like being lumped in with me! LOL.

I'd say that 9 times out of 10 wherever you go, the treatment you receive is in direct proportion to your own demeanor. I don't mean to overgeneralize because I know sometimes things happen, but just saying . . . .

But demeanor might mean something to a 30+ yo fan but not to the 19yo in a drunken stupor. Depends which type you run in to.

But that's exactly my point . . . I don't really care what the 19 year old in a drunken stupor thinks about whose fans are better or worse since he would have gotten in a fight whether he was at Bryant-Denny or at the Wal-Mart in Chattanooga.

Kentucky: When it comes to football, how can you do anything but pity these guys? Seriously. You just can't hate them. All you can do is chuckle while they huddle up in the stadium, half the fans in fetal positions saying hail marys that they can fall into a coma until basketball starts (how's this season going for ya?)

You just sent me into a fetal position with the words "Hail Mary." The Bluegrass Miracle with LSU is just too darn painful.

UK basketball fans aren't too bad against their opponent fans, but they have no problem cannibalizing their own team. It's brutal.

And yeah, this basketball season sucks, but I predicted 18-12 after the first game. Should finish about there.

The amazing thing about the UK Message Boards is that we're talking Spring Football...in February.

Hands down, it is the Florida fans as a whole (with the exception of the ones on this board) that are the most annoying.

But at a close second are GA fans, who try to act as if they are Florida fans.

The best fans to me have been the TRUE Alabama fans. They are a class act. But they are constantly overshadowed by the bammers.

I agree 100% w Volstorm uf wins hands down. As he stated True UA Fans are among the most knowledgeable in the SEC and generally have a touch of Class about them.

I have been fortunate enough to attend fb games in most SEC venues many of the ACC Stadiums & several venues across the US. In many cases, I went as a guest of someone other than UT & was simply an observer. W/o a doubt the student fan section at Big Pill Griffin Stadium are the most unruly, vulgar, nastiest, obnoxious, arrogant, pathetically unclassy humans found in the NCAA. At least in all my venue experiences.

For those abused individuals that were spat on, let me say that may be one of the cleanest liquids thrown on you at Big Pill.

Think about it...just how many other stadiums have their fans throw beer (or was that whiskey) bottles at the opposing Head Coaches wife?

Class pure class!

For someone so traveled, where would you say was your best experience? And I don't mean a stadium where the fans are humble just because their team sucks. I mean your true best experience.

I'd say the most Classy and nicest people were Ole Miss fans. They really were there for the football atmosphere, not to throw urine, bottles, handfuls of change, or any number of other things i've had tossed my way.

That, or Notre Dame. Everyone there wished us well, told us they hoped we enjoyed our visit, etc. Real class act up there.

Penn State's Beaver Stadium is a most enjoyable experience. How couldn't you love a place with a name like that? Seriously, truly good quality loyal CIVILIZED fans, that know football & have been know to have a decent team or two. With a lot of history involved...including Coach Pa.

The most beautiful setting has to be BYU's Cougar (now LaVell Edwards) Stadium. They too have been known to have a good team or two. Most may not know it has a capacity of...65,000. Probably to be expected they are among the NCAA's classiest fans.

Another enjoyable, energetic smaller venue is Cardinal Field (okay I refuse to call it by the Pizza Place) in Louisville. If Louisville continues to obtain some good talent, w their fine Coaching Staff they will continue to prosper.

Probably the loudest maybe worst "semi-big name" fb venue is the Carrier Dome at Syracuse. Interesting enough place, I'm just not much for plastic turf.

I hear ya, but they can't even sell out the Pizza Pit! :)

After Petrino's newest flirtation with the NFL, Louisville's little run may come to a screeching halt soon.

I hope.

Yeah. I was at the SEC Tournament in Atlanta about 4 years ago when South Carolina upset the Cats in the second round. I made the mistake of telling a UK basketball fan sitting next to me, "I've never seen ya'll play this bad!"

Thank God my friend grabbed me by the arm and escorted me to the lower deck before that guy knocked me upside the head with the bottle of Old #7 that he'd been chugging all game. It was definitely a momentary lapse of reason on my part.
