Better Call Saul

That's the entire point of this discussion: Gilligan and Gould don't pull $hit like that because they don't have to. Gil was always dead and so is Chuck.

The point of this discussion isn't the greatness of Gilligan and Gould...that's established. I prefer their style also but that doesn't make GOT's cliffhanger cheap. They've been willing to kill major characters at any time so the prospect of Snow remaining dead was always on the table.

What exactly is weak about it? It's fantasy and they set it up. It's not like it was deus ex machina. Also, it's a pretty dick move if you guys spoil that show for somebody.

It's weak because I didn't like it. Shows are subjective. There isn't an objective "this is good" "this is bad". You liked it. Cool. I didn't.

Wait, you're serious? I thought you were just messing around with me because I said I ignored the GoT thread because of spoilers.

I agree with you. I don't think the series is "cheap", but I do think the ending was weak as hell. It's ok guys, I can still love GoT but not like the Snow/Jesus thing.

Snow's death appeared in A Dance with Dragons only a month after season 1 of GOT ended. That's how GRRM wrote it. If one has never seen the tv show, they don't know the fate of Jon Snow yet since GRRM is being slow about the next book.

*tags in the event someone hasn't already seen the show*

And I'm assuming the next book matches the tv show's events with Jon Snow.

They know the fate of Snow. Martin has given them the main arc, just not all the details. There are about a million interviews with Martin and the producers out there that say this.

Chuck's death wasnt a cliffhanger. They wrapped up his story line in a way that made complete sense. Now it's time for Jimmy to become "Saul Goodman".

finally finished the season today

surprised at Chuck's suicide attempt, he was all fired to sue the firm, then wants to kill himself
doesn't make sense

Firm and his law career was all he had left. Mental demons came back...he let them work. And it wasn't an "attempt"!

For one, suicides don't always make sense.

But in this case I thought it made plenty of sense. He's already ruined his relationship with his brother, his marriage was ruined a long time ago, his condition isn't really better plus he seems to know he's mentally unstable, and the last thing he had in the law firm was taken away from him. His partner just paid him $3 million out of his own pocket to leave and even went into debt to do so. The law firm was all he had left.

Nope. Gilligan's crew ain't into cheap plot devices.

To my recollection Kim was never mentioned in BB, wonder why not? She is/was such a big part of his life.
