Better SEC

Just because LSU and Arky are better, doesn't make them good.

Alabama is a year or two away. Grant needs time. That program was in the dumpster. He's a good coach and I think he'll do well.

I think Horn is decent, but USCe is a dumpster. They'll be better. More healthy, decent recruiting class.
Playing a dumbed down nonconference schedule and racking up a couple of extra wins against the Centenarys and High Points doesn't mean you're "better." Ask a coach who they'd rather face. Guys like Devan Downey, Tas Mitchell, and Courtney Fortson, or a whole bunch of freshmen. It won't take them long to give an answer. Any idiot can schedule their team to "improvement" if they choose to go out and buy a bunch of games against the 250+ RPI crowd.

Emain if you have a DVR, you can pause and rewatch that ish.

They got ticky-tack on North Carolina plenty in that game. I never said the officiating was good, just solid in that it was pretty consistent both ways. Free throw disparities don't usually tell the whole story, sometimes one team just fouls more than the other. Doesn't matter though, Vandy picked up a solid win there.

There isn't a team in the SEC right now that I can look at and think they could make a run to the Final Four. Too many glaring weaknesses on every single team. Florida is more physical than last year (not that that says much) but they are awful defensively. Tennessee can't hold onto the ball and generally just looks lost offensively. Kentucky is pretty weak inside. Vanderbilt is pretty good all-around, just not Final Four good.

Did the SEC voteto change the bball tourney format this year dissolving the divisions? I know I heard there was a vote but wasn't sure if it passed or not and if so when it goes into affect. If it's changed for this march then there won't be a team from the west that wins a game.

I don't think USCe is strong by any means, nor will they make the tourney. They'll mis Downey, but I think they'll be a little better.

Good lord, the West is just atrocious. SEC fanboys better hope that teams in the East don't slip up somewhere, or the league will be staring 4 bids in the face again.

It's terrible. I mean, it's not like Miss St. is even a good bet for the tourney. Auburn is the worst team in a BCS conference. LSU will be lucky to win 12 games. Ole Miss lost at home to Dayton (good team though). Bama lost to St. Peters!!!!! While I don't Pelphrey is terrible as some suggest, Arky won't make the tourney. They'll win 15-17 games.

It's just abysmal.

Gee, since losing to an awful Iowa team wasn't enough "evidence" that Alabama is worse than they were last season, I wonder what the verdict is now.

Alabama is bad this year. I think still think Grant will turn them around, but that program is just bad at the moment.

I think it's awesome that UAB or USA is the best basketball team in the state of Alabama.

I kind of don't understand why everyone is so high on Grant. I don't think he's going to get it done.

Hope I'm wrong, for the conference's sake.

I used to hate Bama back in the early 90's when Wimp Sanderson's tenure was drawing to a close. They had some good battles with UK when James "hollywood" Robinson was still there. Since then however, I have cared very little about them one way or the other.

Just my personal opinion. I always pick a random mid-major team and watch them. Before Grant got hired at Bama, I picked them and was impressed with his team. I think given time, he'll do well.

Memphis has got some serious growing up to do. The Miami team that played them to the wire went to Rutgers and got beat up today. The Tigers handle the ball like it's radioactive.

Only 5 turns in the second half. Young team that is learning their roles (i.e. Joe Jackson as distributor instead of scorer). Wish Jackson/Spoon/Crawford would drive more than settling for jumpers.

Come on now, we all know that St. Peter's is tough. I can't believe Alabama/LSU/Auburn all play 2 times each. Can we choose to blackout those games for the sake of the SEC?
