Better SEC

Cal you are right, the Old Spice just has Cal, Temple, Texas A&M, BC, and Manhattan to go with ND. No good teams in that bunch at all.

Hearing a Memphis fan talk about weak schedule is freaking hilarious. Your entire conference is a joke.

Georgia will have a SOS that is much higher than that of the Memphis Tigers despite the intelligent choice of Pastner to schedule several SEC schools.

A game that your team can learn and grow from is not a horrible loss. I do not believe Billy D is a total idiot who lucked into two National Championships, so I believe that they will not stubbornly stick with a press that does not work against competent guards (even freshmen) and I believe that they will work hard to grow on the things they did well in the first half and stop doing the dumb things they did in the second.

From the post CALISKING quoted, it appears someone struggles with the definition of the word predictions and thinks that I formulated Basketball Times' Top 10.

Captain obvious strikes again. Of course UF will win a ton of games. Their OOC schedule, while stronger than usual, is weak. Add 10 wins in the mediocre SEC and they have a cake walk to 24 wins.

Same with Georgia, OOC schedule is a bevy of directional schools, mid majors, and the powerhouse ND.

Don't know how getting dominated at home on national TV is "not a horrible loss." Also, didn't realize there were any "good" losses.

If Florida is the best in the East, the SEC is in for a long season. Getting beat by 18 at home is a bad loss regardless of who you are playing.

Get some new material. Memphis has no control over how good or bad the teams in CUSA are.

By definition, several is more than 2. Tigers play LSU and UT this year. Don't think LSU will really help the ol RPI.

Manhattan might finish last in the MAAC. Boston College will be in the bottom four of the ACC and if Cal finishes .500 it will only be because they've got one of the top 10 floor coaches in the sport. Don'y you realize how good those teams are?

Are you so bad at arguing that you left out the Aggies and the Owls?

The Old Spice has plenty of good teams.

A Tiger High fan mocking schedule strength of anyone when they play in a crap conference will always be hilarious.

Not mocking, I just roll with the facts. You operate in the arena of your own opinion.

You seem to think that the SEC is vastly superior to CUSA. Please see link for end of year projections as well as up to the date results.

Sorry, but this just doesn't fit with MHF's predictions for the SEC so it is obviously wrong.

I am having trouble seeing why the 5th best league according to this web projection would not still be vastly superior to the 9th best.

I also predicted more OOC wins for the conference than last year. We will see if I am right. Auburn had 2 good players I thought coming on, now Auburn has no good players. So they will suck...LSU has tons of freshmen who have to play, they really let me down losing to Nicholls State.

No other SEC teams have been lots worse than I thought. Florida looked alot better inside as they outrebounded OSU, but then in the second half they lost Sullinger but were primarily undone by idiotic turnovers (dribbling off your leg when you are not being pressed etc) and a David Lighty shooting performance that reminded me of Meeks, Lofton and Houston.

The website has us losing 39 more OOC games as a conference. I think they are wrong. I like TN at 5 in the RPI though.

SEC 2008-9 124 - 44 OOC
SEC 2009-10 123 - 47 OOC
SEC 2010-11 ???

They predicts 112-43
I think somehow the model they have is unable to include extra wins due to wins in tournaments (like the ones that many of the SEC teams play in and in which TN has 2 wins and the potential for 2 more) but I would be really comfortable saying that the SEC will have 125 OOC wins. That would result in a very different RPI than 112 wins.

I realize I'm a relative newcomer to this board, and that there are previously delineated "sides," so maybe I'm missing something.

But, to be clear...are you really trying to argue that Memphis has as tough a schedule as, say, Tennessee? And that CUSA is nearly as good as the SEC?

Really?

I'm going to have to report you to the authorities. You were supposed choose a side before the season opener.

Fran Dunphy and Mark Turgeon are suddenly in fear for their jobs. They've received the MHF Kiss Of Death. Bobby Lutz and Jerry Wainwright send their condolences.

Hahaha I am glad that Hat is on the record now saying that Temple will suck like Charlotte.

Of course, if they do he will bring this up and say I told you so, and if they do not he will say "I never said that!"

Failing to properly declare a side will result in the offender being sentenced to watch LSU, Auburn, Oklahoma, Iowa, DePaul, Wake Forest, Providence, and Oregon games on a continuous loop.

SEC is a better a conference than CUSA. However, it is not as vastly superior as MHF projects. Vastly superior would be if SEC is 1 or 2 and CUSA were at 9.

Memphis has no control over how good or bad CUSA teams are. That's why they scheduled Miami, Kansas, Georgetown, Gonzaga, and UT OOC. Before Cal left, there were supposed to be neutral games with Louisville and Duke. With his departure with the recruiting class, these games fizzled.

JP spent last year just trying to get enough players to field a team. Scheduling was secondary. OOC schedule will be upgraded next year now that the task of reloading has occurred. I believe a UNC home and home starts next year.

I am actually paying to watch LSU Sunday.

It isn't great, but has potential to be solid. KY loss of Kanter hurt, but CUSA pretty much sucks.

I'm intrigued by Eustachy's bunch, Tim will have UTEP solid by March, and Marshall is much better than people realize. Outside of that and Memphis, the league is a chemical spill.

UTEP and Memphis are respectable, but the rest look very shake or worse.
