Didn't see a post about this, but here's more craziness to add to the big12 mess.
According to a source in kansas city, texas and tx a&m are planning to petition joining the BIG10 (with or without tx tech and baylor) rather than the PAC16, while oklahoma is leaning towards the SEC.

That's fine. I was just hoping that you realized that my post didn't contain incorrect grammar usage.
I have no problem insulting Blacksburg. I have no problem insulting Va. Tech. The city makes Lubbock look like Los Angeles and the school is nothing but UVA's hillbilly cousin and a breeding ground for screw loose, gun happy engineering freaks. I love when Tech apologists act like the Hokies are the college version of the Redskins to the DC area. Their huge following there is why it took 30 years of begging and pleading to get them into the ACC. The league wasn't sure it could handle such a spike in TV ratings. They killed us in football, dumbass, and none of our science programs at UT hold a candle to theirs. None. I wouldn't insult the school, sir Tennessee publically educated buffoon.
Blacksburg also has less population below the poverty line AND higher median family income than Knox county. I wouldn't insult the city either.
In fact, I think most of us would take the DC and Va Beach markets Tech brings.

Exactly. I'm amazed at the number of people who act like adding B listers like Va. Tech and Clemson somehow strengthens the league. On topic, however.... I'm not sure I really want to see anyone else join the league. I know the wind seems to be blowing towards the idea of the "mega-conferences" but I don't like it.... I know CFB is a business and that which brings in the almighty dollar will carry the day but I miss the old single file SEC where I could look forward to a UT- Auburn game EVERY year and didn't have to concern myself with second rate programs like S. Carolina and Arkansas......
Yeah, Tech's massive following is why they spent a good portion of their existence in the Metro in basketball and as an independent in football. The governor of Virginia had to beg the ACC to take their scraggly ass. It's a meaningless, garbage school with a meaningless, garbage athletic program. They're far better suited for C-USA than they are the SEC.
