Why did you do that?!? I am a female and I just wanted to see where he stood..

it was a joke based on multiple ways to read your post. (you may learn that I always take the low road approach to posting :hi:).

I, being female, don't believe that women should have "official" positions in the church...and like RockyTopVol said according to God's word it says no...

So you believe that God created women to be second-class citizens in his house? Kinda seems odd he would have gone ot all that trouble. Maybe they're just kept around to run the daycare?

Yet another reason I think the Bible is just a wonderful story (which I know is not popular around here but that's just my belief)

Gotcha! :) It's sometimes hard to tell how people mean it!

No...I don't believe that God created women to be second-class citizens. There are some powerful women in the Bible. However, the men are supposed to be the spiritual leaders not only in the home but also in the church. God created a woman because he didn't think that man should be alone.

T-townvol...how do you feel about women in "official" positions?

I do not believe that women are to be Elders, Deacons or Pastors. I do believe that women can participate in worship by leading prayer, leading songs and even serving communion.
My Sunday School teacher is a woman and a man team. She has forgotten more about the Bible then I will ever know. She is a fantastic teacher.
We also have several women that head up department such is elementary education, preschool eaducation and community outreach.

Very good response.

You disagreeing with something isn't necessarily reasoning at all. It is just you disagreeing, not much reasoning in it.

Your belief is respected. Just not Biblical. I know that you do not believe that the Bible is true but, you have heard the truth here. I would hope that you would change your mind, but that is your choice.

I'll be sure to post a pic of the black eye I receive when I tell my fiance she was created to be man's best friend. :p

DUCK! And actually it is to be "a help mate" for man.
I would be mad at you too if you called me a dog.

Thank you! I do believe that women have a role in the church. But like you said...they shouldn't be elders, deacons, or pastors. I see nothing wrong with women being sunday school teachers or even like you said they are elementary education or head of the children's ministry.

Boy, you would really hate my girlfriends former church, much like I did. They have a female co-pastor (or whatever they call them there) who is also a lesbian. It's UCC, so what can you expect, I guess.

Why??

Some of the finest pastors in this country are women.

Such BS, but you do have a right to believe all the BS you wish

i don't see a problem with them leading a class, just not the church. what is UCC? lesbo in a church? wow must be a very liberal church. you sure the pastor isn't Rev. Wright?

United Church of Christ. Unbelievably liberal, and boring as hell. It was so weird to actually go there and see people, including the pastor, wearing shorts and flip flops.
