I just know what I know. I know God is looking out for me and He's taking care of me. If things happen, I know He is in control of it and will never leave nor forsake me.
Of course it goes somewhere, you have no idea who is watching and forming their own opinions of the subjects discussed in this thread.
A lot of people choose to pm to the posters of the thread and it is a great opportunity for you to talk about your faith.
Who is arguing..... the premise of the whole discussion is to have fun......
The great part about debate is being challenged on what you believe........
Take a better point of view with this!

 Maybe we need to revisit the Civil War, or maybe WWll this time.
It's not about being challenged. It is turning into an argument, and a " I am right, and you are wrong" type of discussion. I'm not about that. If i've come across that way, then I apologize. I love debating, and if thats the case I will continue.
Which one first and what do you want to cover?
The fact that Grant wasn't scared of Lee but he was scared of Johnston?
That usually pisses a lot of people off because they don't understand the reason why he said it.
:birgits_giggle:
I may have to plead ignorance, the only Johnston I am aware of was General Washington Johnston, an opponent to slavery, but he died before the war. He fought at Tippacanoe.
But God controls all, according to you. So if you do not make it to heaven, it is His fault.
You have taken this WAY beyond what it meand. God controls all that HAPPENS to you. He does not control the way you choose to live your life. That's why he sent his son Jesus, to come and die for your sins. So you can ACCEPT to follow him on your own free will. If you choose not to, then you know the outcome.
That's up to you my friend. I am not degrading you, or downsizing your opinions. You do have a lot to learn in this life. God controls all. That's not just some things, but ALL. You cant even begin to comprehend the reasons things happen, thats why he is God. No one knows the mind of God. There is so much to be revealed. Why does God let kids have cancer? I dont know that? Maybe you can ask him one day, if you get the chance.
No....No its not. I am not an arrogant person. I am just telling him that if his views dont change, and he doesnt let God control his life, and he doesnt start living for Jeuse he wont make it. That is the truth.
OK so I have kept quiet for a long time on this issue but here are my thoughts on church, Christians, God, and religion which are all different. The religion of today is growing at a faster pace than ever and that is great but so many folks are turned off of church because todays churches are filled with hypocrites .NEWS FLASH .. So is the world. I think so much of finding that peace that we area all looking for spending time one on one either praying or in scripture and growing your own personal relationship with Jesus. If you seek him and his presence then you will ultimately grow closer to him and get some of the answers you are after. So many people make being a Christian sound much harder that it actually is. I have also heard all of the questions about what God lets happen to us. I think Gods presence is in everything he created; however he has given us free will to make our own decisions and choose our own destiny. If someone you know has gotten sick or even died that is just part of your life. God gives and takes away, we do not know the reasoning behind this and that is one more thing that makes him God. We are not supposed to understand, if we did then he would not be God. So people will call faith ignorance and in a sense I guess by definition it truly is, but that is a chance I am willing to take. The bible was written over a period of 2000 years and always gave names of witnesses and time frames for every miracle that occurred it was not just one guys word they always gave description of everyone there and several accounts. My faith is strong and I have been in the darkness for a long time before I found the answers I was looking for. One thing that always stood out to me is Jesus did not go to the priests, the rich, the religious, and scholars to be disciples, he went to the common man. He found average men and made them teachers of the truth, mercy, forgiveness, healing, grace, and love. Are you guys just average Joes? If so then, do you not think he could still transform you today into the life he has for you? Sorry I got a little preachy but I could go on and this longer than I wanted anyways .thanks
