Are you a christian OE? It seems like your out to be everyones friend, instead of hopefully saving someone from Hell.
This is the main reason I abandoned my beliefs for about 5 years and studied different religion. I studied the Bible and many other beliefs from a neutral point of view.
Well, it also assumes that you are picking the "right" form of God.

Assuming I am right and a God does exist. I'd feel safe in believing God would be OK if I chose the "wrong" God and didn't get it all right, what with me being human and non-perfect and all. But choosing to not believe at all, not so sure about.
my belief is not really a choice though, I couldn't wake up tomorrow and decide "okay I am going to believe in God now." This is where one of my major problems with religion lies, for most people, there is absolutely no way to change their mind, it is just how they are wired. How can they be punished for that?
That is just the point brother. You will not save him with one liners and brimstone! It is not about being his friend, it is about a Christian judging another man (I l
eave that to God) if there is any way to reach people like e-main or pj it is through example and friendship, it will be a process over time not just telling them you are better than them, remember we all have sin and yours is no better than theirs. Just remember it is a marathon not a sprint.
You have got to be kidding me. I never said I was better than him. I never said my sins were lesser than his. I've tried the rational approach, I've tried to give it to him lightly. If he can say my beliefs are wrong and I serve a unloving God I take offense to that.

Wow, now there is arguement among us christians as to the "right way" to do witness and save someone, just try to be christlike and lead by example, there is no wrong way if you follows the teachings of Christ.... No wonder Gahndi(SP) said ..."I like your Christ....just not your Christians", speak the truth, follow the word of God, and just let your light shine

Don't take it as him saying your beliefs are wrong, take it for what it is, he simply does not believe as you do. You say you've tried the rational approach, that is what we are suppose to do. All I'm saying is encourage him over time and stay away from the brimstone and damnation and little by little over time he may come around. Beat him over the head with it and you will lose him, or worse he might just "believe" because people say he should and in it for all the wrong reasons and lost anyway. We should be compassionate to no end not scathing.
How can there be a right way?
Every one of us is wired differently and respond differently to every thing around us.
Haha how?
