Billy Donovan to Magic . . . and back? (merged)

You didn't know that? Most murders in the metro Nashville area have been tied to someone watching a Clippers-Rockets game in December.

Yeah, because basketball players are also immune to getting into trouble until they play in the NBA. His favorite sport, college basketball is trouble (and drug) free.

The most popular "team" in Charlotte is, was, and always will be The Four Horsemen.
funny you should mention that, Ric Flair was on the Packman show last week for about 2 hours of the 4 hour broadcast.

nothing, and i mean nothing was discussed except wrestiling for those two hours. it was actually a pretty good interview. apparently he and AA have not spoken to each other in about 3-4 years, and for RF's new DVD about the 4 horsemean, AA wouldn't even be interviewed for it...interesting stuff, if you're in to it.

Yeah, Patrick Dennehey didn't get murdered at Baylor. That was just a media creation.

That's strange because AA still works for the WWE and was at the Hall of Fame ceremonies and he and Flair seemed to be fine. Interesting and sad.

yep, when he began talking about that, there was a little bit of surprise noticed in the reaction of the callers and hosts when he brought that up. he never got in to why......

Must be a personal issue, because AA appeared with Ric at The Survivor Series last year.

AA was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up, and the only heel I liked. His DDT was excellent.

I actually haven't watched wrestling in a while, since 2002 maybe? Anyway, I youtubed some old classic stuff like:

Razor Ramon/Shawn Michaels WM10 ladder match
HBK/Bret Hart Ironman

which then derailed into me reinvesting time into the Montreal Screw Job for over an hour. I forgot all about it. Then I found the video released TEN YEARS LATER of the infamous Cliq MSG farewell, which broke kayfabe. Interesting stuff, too.

And...you lost me.

Why not? I'd like to know what my neighbors down South think.
we think that living in Charlotte far exceeds anything Nashville has to offer. not to bag on Nashville, been there many, many times, and have had some good times. but have also been enough to know that i definitely made the right decision on where i want to live.

but i've lived in Memphis, Knoxville, and Atlanta and now Charlotte, and Charlotte is by far the best of the cities i've lived in.

Watching Bret Hart get ripped off is one of the happiest moments of my life.

This content in this thread is a little disturbing.

I mean, I already knew that the NBA was full of drug-using gang bangers...and it's crystal clear that basketball-related murders are the number one killer of urban blacks and hispanics...

...but you mean to tell me that Ric Flair and Arn Anderson aren't speaking to one another!? That's depressing.

You know, I knew you'd feel that way. Earl Hebner is a coward, in the end, though. Not debateable. :)

I love Charlotte, but that wasn't my question.

I'm just wondering who Charlotteans believe they are on par with as far as metropolises.

I'd take Memphis over Charlotte, but that's due to personal associations in the Bluff City. Knoxville really doesn't fit in the discussion. Charlotte is, in fact, about a 10,000 times better city than either Mullet City or Atlanta.

As far as a city goes, I believe Atlanta has more to offer than Charlotte.

probably an Atlanta of about 20 years ago.

Exactly. To hell with the Middle East, Codoleeza Rice needs to get home and reconcile the Enforcer and the Nature Boy, pronto.

i probably don't give Memphis the credit it deserves today, most of my memories are 1992 prior, I left in 93 i think...

but i got to say, as much as i do go back either for work or to visit family that still lives there or friends, i still have no desier to ever go back.

memphis definitely has much more character, good and bad, than Charlotte. charlotte has no real identity. many want to claim nascar and racing in general, but the banking center that it is, the major coroporations would like to distance themselves from that "crowd" so they think. persoanally, i think it's something they should embrace.

The best part of that whole situation is HHH looking Bret's wife directly in the eye and lying to her about not knowing what was going to happen. That is classic.

I love how you use Mullet City. Come here and see how many people with mullets you find. You live where 9-5ers go to die, an extended retirement community if you will.
