Biopsy's airline gripe thread

I fly ALOT and overall it’s awful.. I am totally shocked there is not more air rage.. most business travelers are ready to snap..

This happened tonight... Fat guy with a front and back pack rotating to sit down and crashing into people and never said a word... Then asked if he could switch seat to the isle due to his back issue...

Getting ready to fly close the 6am the some asshat 2 seats behind is giving leacture on the price of college... everyone is trying to sleep.. brilliant

I feel for a lot of you guys riding back there. Occasionally I have to "deadhead" in the back and always thank my lucky stars I don't have to travel like that on a regular basis. My @$$ starts to hurt after 30 mins in one of those seats as there's nothing soft about the seat cushions in coach. I'm a normal size guy and I get crushed by dudes that really should be purchasing two seats. But it doesn't help them that the seat size has shrunk significantly over the years too. There is NOTHING ergonomically correct about passenger seats either. Carry on bag stowage, passenger behavior, etc. The list goes on. It's also one of those environments where you don't want to be "that guy" when it comes to flying/passenger etiquette. But as we well know, these days, a lot of people just don't care. Stay strong Biopsyman!

I always bring earplugs on planes, muffles the sound and also signals to person sitting next to you that you don't want to talk.

Solid.. Never heard on them, Where do you get them?
Krogers, CVS, anywhere. Look in the sections next to the pharmacy and they'll have a section devoted for ears. DO NOT get foam ear plugs.

I've used Mac's before in a room where a guy had severe sleep apnea snoring loud enough to peel paint off a wall and I never heard him.

Of course it only works if your Bose arent earbuds.

Jump seats aren't too comfy either.

I saw something on this that basically anyone can get a service dog designation. There’s little to no oversight or standards, there’s lots of websites that you pay a fee and get a certificate and vest. People are doing it because they don’t want their dogs in cargo on a plane, or they want to ignore all the no dog areas around town. I’ve seen several at the farmers market and it’s clearly what’s going on.

I was standing in the security line at an airport once and there was a guy with a dog standing in front of a lady. The lady asked him what kind of dog he had and he said "it's a service dog." The lady asks "No, I mean what breed?" The guy gets visibly annoyed and says, sternly, "It's a service dog." :eek:lol:

The dog had no vest or anything on and appeared completely able-bodied.

Saw a clip on the news the other day where a guy wanted to take his emotional support animal on the flight but the airline actually put their foot down and said no, you can't take that bigass peacock on our plane.

Edit: It may have been TSA that turned him away, not the airline. Journalistic accuracy is not my strong suit.

In July, I'm flying Allegiant from Knoxville to the smaller of Tampa's two airports. Non-stop, no checked bags, no carryons other than my car keys and iPhone. Plus, I was able to reserve an exit row seat.

Nothing to gripe about just yet, but I've heard Allegiant, as a whole, leaves a lot to be desired.

There is nothing comforting about a Peacock.

I really don't have a problem with someone's dog being on the plane, emotional support animal or not.

However, pet owners need to be more aware. Some dogs can handle it, some cannot. My dog is resonably well behaved, but she's not without faults. One of these faults is aggressively introducing herself with love to everyone she meets. This can make people uncomfortable, therefore I wouldn't take her on a plane ride.

I use them for this St.Pete/Knoxville route 2-3 times a year. Their seats are incredibly uncomfortable, but otherwise, no problems.
