Biopsy's airline gripe thread

As a frequent flier, 140+\- flights per year, I wanted to jump in on this thread.
I will not fly southwest, it’s just terrible I’m so many levels. I hate the cattle call at boarding.
I’m amazed at how rare that there are crying / screaming kids on flights.
The whole thing about having to check a bag even if it fits. That is a frustration. Usually airlines do that because of a late boarding group. I’m weird, I always check bags.
My gripes are more about airports. Some are absolutely terrible.

Southwest is a flying garbage can...

Sounds like you and Biopsy should compare travel schedules, meet up in an airport bar somewhere and have a nice long booze-fueled *****fest. It would be therapeutic.

I have to fly for work... The industry took planes out of capacity after 911 but never but planes back in.. Now every flight is oversold and the whole experience continues to decline...

it is, no doubt, but keep in mind for us casual fliers if provides a more economical means of travel. Seeing that I fly once or twice a year, I can stomach the cattle call easier than you or others that do in on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. I guess its like using a car. Renting a sub compact for a vacation might save a $100 over the week but I'd rather drive an SUV, BMW, or Lexus at home everyday.

That’s a good point. When you do it a lot comfort becomes a deciding factor.

I’ll be there in a few weeks. I’ve never been before.

Great restaurants abound. Here's a pretty good list to start with: Top 50 Restaurants of Tampa Bay for 2018 | Food | Tampa Bay Times

Ocean Prime, Èlevage and The Columbia are all fantastic depending on what you're in the mood for.

The Lightning are also in town a lot over the next few weeks. It's always a good time. Depending on your timing, you may be be here for the end of spring training baseball too.

Traffic is pretty bad like most big cities but if you go south towards Sarasota or in line towards Lakeland at the wrong times a day traffic can be brutal

Today Southwest had 12 pre borders- scam.. buy the cheapest seat and then fake a limo .. then walk off just fine

I love when when someone talks with their speaker phone on the plane.. nobody cares your conversation... more asshats on the plane

I fly ALOT and overall it’s awful.. I am totally shocked there is not more air rage.. most business travelers are ready to snap..

Before I stepped out on my own in 2010 it had been 25 years of frequent flying and I had my fill. Wanting to spend a few days in East Tennessee next month and though time is tight I might make it a road trip, I loathe flying that much.

And I live less than an hour from IAH and am a United Million Miler... And get around 5000 reward miles a month using my Chase United Visa card (for my petrol and business supplies) but happy to let daughter use them for travel back and forth to DC/Georgetown.

You shoulda stood up and slow-clapped that shizz.

Btw, if I torched the cabin like that I would be really easy to peg by anyone who knew what to look for. My face would be three shades of purple trying to restrain my laughter.

I’m gonna dance down the aisles back to my seat with a look of pure delight and gratitude from the gift I bestowed upon all on board.

In all honesty...... I make sure it’s all out before boarding a long plane ride. I need room to complete the task at hand.

The person who did that I’m sure had to change their pants or underwear once they got home

It's just like an elevator fart -- I'm not sure which is funnier, the SBD that has everyone squirming and trying to simultaneously look offended and not look guilty, or the loud blaster that let's them know hell's a-coming and there's an unapologetic ***hole on board that just brought it. And they can't get away from either one.
