I watch plenty of football and just enjoy it. The only time I truly care is when UT is playing or an SEC team is playing non-conference. Or if two SEC teams are playing each other and one of them losing will bump us in the rankings.

Anyways my point is, if you ONLY care about UT football, why do you care if Clemson beats Georgia?

because I hate UGA. Stop making this so hard. I hate all SEC schools, that aren't UT. So naturally, I would rather see the team they are facing win.

You want Georgia/Bama/Florida/S. Carolina to lose every game they play even though it actually hurts UT by lowering our strength of schedule.

Agree to disagree I guess, I just want someone to convince me otherwise. Until then I will say it again.....

You should pull for your conference.

Yeah that doesn't pass as a valid contribution to the debate.

I will be in Chattanooga on Tuesday afternoon. Would love to sit down and have a beer with you. Perhaps I could make my point. Not everyone wants to type out a novel during a post on a message board. Perhaps hair of the dog?

In order to worry about strength of schedule, UT has to start winning first.

And you can continue to say it, but it's a waste.

Actually I don't live in Chattanooga. As much as I love and miss my hometown, I grew some sense and moved to Vol country about 2 years ago. Now I'm 10 minutes from Neyland instead of 2 hours. Best decision I ever made.

Ill be at Neyland this weekend for the game, but I'm not interested in typing any more, only to have you tell me you will be in Columbus Ohio.

Because it's REALLY simple to understand, dude. This is getting tiresome, so I'm done here.

As long as strength of schedule is still taken into account for ranking your team, wanting UT's strength of schedule to be lower will never make sense to me.

I was hoping Georgia would beat Clemson so that Clemson would beat Florida St and eliminate both from the championship. Then we could get a shot at beating a top 5 Georgia. I want all our confrenece teams to win so that if we knock one of them off its not that they are just having a down year.

That never seems to effect Ohio states ranking

Alabama losing to ULM didn't.
Georgia losing to Boise state and Oklahoma State didn't.
Florida losing to Louisville didn't.

But to hear some say it ,me rooting for Clemson will make SEC conference obsolete.

I root for the Vols. Other teams I may pull for or against depending on match ups and time of year. SEC or not.

How does it help UT out when a conference team loses a non-conference game?

After this year, doesn't strength of schedule effectively kind of fall to the wayside? Not necessarily related to rankings, but we likely won't ever see 2 SEC teams play for a NC again?
Just asking as I don't understand the new criteria.
