Black jerseys to be auctioned (merged)

BLM is a radical far left led group. Giving them $$ is dangerous. They are a dangerous group. I doubt Pruitt actually believes in the stupid crap he's pushing here but he has a bunch of brainwashed players so he feels he has to feed the ignorance for recruiting purposes
It's just another form of manipulation. These kids don't ask enough questions. It's sad because I think most of them mean well

That is absolutely hilarious. First of all I would love to know how much you give a year and the finite percentage that is to the UTAD budget. And somehow you think your voice matters, that is a riot. Compare that to the amount of money that black Student-Athletes generate and yet you still wonder why they are not listing to your narrow view of social issues. America has shifted, we are going to see a lot more peaceful protests in athletics at the pro and college level. Corporate sponsors are seeing this - look at all the logo changes this week alone. I promise you, the University of Tennessee is not going to get caught on the wrong side of this issue. And you not going to a game or two and eating a couple of hot dogs is not a legitimate concern to them. Young Americans support equality on all fronts and if you are not with them, again I suggest getting out of the way so you don't get rolled over.

You seem to have reading comprehension issues. I never implied my funds would alter their abilities. I simply said I can stop them.

Corporate sponsors and UT arent on the right side of squat, they are making guesses that they hope negate financial losses.

Young Americans are generally naive fools, it is that "young" part.

LOL...so many snowflakes getting riled up because of their "facts" about BLM that they heard from a friend or saw on Facebook. It's a good move and they're making sure the money goes to social initiatives and not political parties or campaigns. This is a human rights issue and not a political one. UT is handling it the right way.
I'm not riled up. I think the general intent is good and that the players have there hearts in a good place. But I would like to see the money spent differently

Black Lives Matter movement is the biggest movement going right now. You gonna Thank Pruitt later. Black players are paying attention to these coaches every move. Plus maybe 75 percent of the team is black. Its smart for the coaches and the fan base to be on board with this movement. I love what Pruitt is doing. That will definitely help recruiting. By the Way I love the Black Jerseys.

It's not their fault, they follow fraud SJWs like baby bron bron and Colin K around like lost puppies on social media and now every white guy is sports and sports commentary now also tells them all cops bad and all white cops are actively out hunting young black men. I'm starting to prepare myself to skip this coming season. Maybe covid hits again in the fall.

Worked against USC Jr. on All Hallow's Eve back in the day.

I says good.
At the end of the day if it makes them play hard and kill Kentucky the money could go to Isis for all I care. This country has lost it's way well before this. At least the Vols will be good.

It's just as I suspected before I checked this thread: Everyone is in agreement on this topic and nobody is arguing.

Good job! Glad we all agree on something for a change!

Lasting change will come when the CommUnity organizes their vote, and thier dollar, and realize your local and state elections are just as important, if not more so, than the presidential election. We waste too many resources on stuff that doesn't matter, in a broad sense. It would be a better return on my investment to ensure everyone in my CommUnity is registered to vote, or learns about economic empowerment, than try to convince people that issues are real. Change is here, like it or not.

Unfortunately, Fox News has turned Older Americans into naive fools as well.

I guess time will tell, too bad you won't be along for the ride. More room for the rest of us people who believe in equality and justice for all. I think this year is going to be special sorry you won't be around for it. Goodbye!

Here is where your logic is misguided. You don't know my political affiliation at all, you assume I am a Democrat because I support the wearing of black jerseys by our Student-Athletes. You also assume that all or virtually all black people living in impoverished areas are also Democrats and vote only for White Democrats that basically use and abuse them. First, this type of political diatribe is not at issue in this thread and furthermore it is just profoundly stupid. It ignores all other factors of institutional and systematic racism that I don't have time to educate you on. If you really are blaming poor and black people for their plight because they only vote for people that are Democrats, then I could see why you oppose black jerseys and black Student Athletes. You are the problem not everybody else.

1. I did not direct this polemic toward you Robert, nor do I have any idea of your political party. If I intimated that somehow, I ask your forbearance as it was not my intent.
2. I do not assume "all or virtually all black people living in impoverished areas are also Democrats" - this cannot be in question as voter registration roles are unambiguous. Also, I do not assume they "vote only for White Democrats that basically use and abuse them". Quite the opposite, many of their leaders that are using and abusing them are also minorities. Who has run these cities for the last 50 years? And as far as I am aware, middle class suburban white people (or black either for that matter) are not going into the inner city and turning it into places of poverty and crime any more than they do that to the (much closer) trailer park.

In no way do I discount that racism is real. I have seen it all over the world among all ethnicity and almost all cases have an economic core. Only in America are we so arrogant as to think only "relatively white skinned" Americans can be racist. As I continue to tell my son, however, continuing to blame someone else for your current situation, keeps you a perpetual victim, a slave even - like the circus animal who has been caged so long that they cannot escape even if the doors were no longer there.

Yet people cannot continue to blame others for where they find themselves on a consistent basis. When I want to make my world better, I first start with my own self, in my own house and then seek to perform beneficial actions in my own neighborhood. If everyone would do that, irrespective of race, the world would be a much better place.

There's more than one from of Marxism. I think there is a serious trend towards social Marxism in this country
Deciphering if he meant Karl Marx or Vladimir Lenin was not really the point of the thread was it? The frustrating part is that the UTAD, the University itself and the Student Athletes are not the ones turning this into a political debate. The are simply tackling a social issue that has long been ignored and some of their own fans, which I hope is a minority, are calling the naive, dumb and communists. And for some reason I am supposed to fear the younger generation taking over. I will take this current college generation over mine any day. They are smarter, more self aware and much more empathetic than any generation before them. This thread certainly proves that!

Please do and leave the site while you are at it. You and posters like you make Vol fans look bad and scare recruits off.
